Hey Zombie here's my take I wrote it in the other thread too:

Our o-line is terrible, if not the worst in the league.

Here's my proposition: We trade Kampman for a quality tackle. Yes I know everyone loves Kampman but it's better for Kampman and for the Packers at this situation.

Kampman is replaceable in the 3-4, I'd agree with you that his not replaceable in the 4-3 but in the 3-4 we've got other people that could get the same job as his doing done.

Packers Advantage: Getting a quality tackle or guard

Kampman Advantage: Playing in a 4-3 defense where he could play to what his great at. A chance to get his stats up and maybe get a fatter contract in the following years.

Other team advantage: Getting a quality DE with capability of double digit sacks.

That way we won't get a blow or a whole in the team nor will lose any of our early draft picks.

That's probably the only way we could fix this o-line (Well it'd be a start)

*Barbe needs to be replaced A.S.A.P.

Now coaching side I'd like to see more runs please and a bit more screens. I don't remember in tonight's game ever failing in a screen pass.

*Capers played scared tonight, he was scared that if he sends to many blitz Favre would rip this defense apart. Well I'd rather get burnt on blitz pressuring him / hitting him / making him force throws then letting him rip this defense on a so called man to man or zone in whichever situation this defense is lined up.

It's unbelievable how a QB can have 7.35 seconds to throw a ball.

Also I'd like to see our safeties more involved in the pass game, maybe more aggressive.

Aaron played a near perfect game except for some plays (int) which was a bad call by the coaches and a bad decision from the part of the WR and the QB for actually going to that pass. Also I'd like to see some more play where Aaron uses his legs to get the first down instead of getting sacked and taking to much time to throw.

Major problem = o-line
Problem = d-line pressure
Needs to be tweaked = safeties

*Needs a good slap to wake up = Al Harris

Let me know what you guys think?

Shield - A week ago, I would have made fun of you.

Today, I'm thinking that might be a good trade. I love Kampy, but this isn't his forte. He doesn't work really well in this D.

Everyone else - We held the BEST PLAYER IN THE NFL to 55 yards on 25 carries for a 2.2 average, and despite him scoring a TD, we got one right back from him as we stripped the ball out of his hands and ran it back for a TD.

Ease up. It's not the end of the world.

We head into the bye week at 2-2. We beat up 2 bad teams and then host the division leading Vikings, who will most likely still be leading this division when we host them.

By the way, like it or not, Favre is showing he's still an elite QB. He makes the throws he has to make. I watched it in SF. I watched it tonight. Sometimes, you have to give credit to your opponent for doing things right.

A few months ago, the concept of trading Aaron Kampman for a player of need was anathema on this board, virtually unspeakable. There was a poll that bandied about the idea, and while popular opinion was overwhelmingly against, there were, ahem, a few hardy souls among us who voted for it. I won't name names. 😉

the only thing positive to come out of tonight was the reminder that my life outside of being a Packer fan is great.

if all i had was "being a Packer fan" i'd slit my goddamn wrists already and forget about how we're going to "fix" (lulz) this.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Zombieslayer, be prepared for the barrage of ridicule from the "wins-are-the-only-statistic-that-matter" crowd.

Anyway, I didn't see this game, so (fortunately or unfortunately), I can't grieve too deeply, so I'm going to bed.

Wins are over rated. Even if we have a losing season, I think Mike McCarthy is safe for atleast another 15 years. :thumbright:

I think we should fire Sherman again. He is the anti-christ!

Although player for player trades are rare in the NFL, Thompson should be trying to work on this one.
Kampy looks lost in this defense and deserves to be an impact player in a 4-3 defense again.
Not sure there is anyone out there that is willing to give up an NFL caliber tackle but there has to be a better option out ther than we have now.

Other than Finley and Woodson this team has not shown anything.

Rodgers is holding the ball too long and taking too many sacks

Grant is below average runner and his costly fumbles are unacceptable.

All the receivers are dropping the ball.

There is enough evidence against the zone blocking scheme to have scrapped it long ago.

The D-line cannot generate pressure on the passer.

The linebackers cannot stop the run or drop properly into coverage. They cannot blitz well so Capers defense lays back in very soft zones that get picked aprat.

The secondary is dropping into soft zone coverage that good QB's like Palmer and Favre rip apart. Guys are taking themselves out of plays by defending zone where no opposing players are.

The kicker is unreliable. The Punter below average.

The special teams generate far too penalties.

Every coach with the possible exception of the TE coach is not worthy to be retained.

Look for Ted Thompson to clean house and bring in a new staff.
