The lack of pass rush really comes from blitzing packages...and that's something that can be addressed fairly easily. You're not going to generate one when you have 3 on 5 linemen, and for whatever reason, Capers rarely brought heat last night. (e.g. the 7.34 seconds favre had that one pass play)

Thus, I think you can take some good from bottling up AP so well because the pass rush is very fixable, IMO.

They are 25% of the way thru the season now and are only a .500 team. Just when is that going to happen?
If it was so easy to fix they should have done so in week 2 not week 6.

Rogers can't continue with no protection. We Handled AP better than anyone has all year and most of his career, if we had even the semblance of an O Line we win that game.

We played to contain AP first.. they held back on the blitz packages to make sure that gap contain was held. We made the Vikings become somewhat one dimensional.. which kept the game within reach for the most part. It came at a cost though.. which was pressure on Favre.

But when they are playing like they should be.. the Vikings are a pick our poison type team.. they have the ability currently to play both styles. Can't take everything away.. we chose AP, which IMO is the correct play.

We have to... no excuses should be taken, shore up this offensive line group during the bye.

Doesn't matter when you have no pass rush.

Ditto.
If you don't pressure Favre, your dead.....and we were dead.

Here is the dilemma. In order to stop AD, the players have to be controlled, and in order to get pressure, you almost need to go with abandon. They need to find that middle ground.

I really hate the 2 man front we are using. Get them 3 big bodies in that can collapse the pocket themselves, and have them tie their ears back and rush, keeping the LBer in control mode for the run.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Yea, I think that we did exactly what has to be done to beat the vikings, except out score them! You have to take AP out of the game and usually thats easier said then done. Last night we did that and put the pressure on Brent. He came through for them, but imo he wont be able to do that all season!

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
