I think we COULD beat them if we played a good game plan. My uneducated plan would be.

Instruct players not to leave their position. Don't over load the box. Overloading the box is going to have the second layer of defense riddled with holes for Peterson to exploit.

I'd run a lot of blitz's too. Tight zone coverage and hit the QB as often as possible.

I also wouldn't blitz that much this game. Come with a more conservative game plan on defense. Favre has seen EVERYTHING. He still has the arm to make us pay if he reads our blitzes. The last thing I want is AP, Harvin, or Chester Taylor matched up one-on-one with any of our LBs or Derrick Martin. They're gonna make em miss the tackle more often than not and burn us for big yardage. We need to apply pressure with 4 defenders this week, which is why I want to see more of Matthews. Poppinga isn't capable of winning 1 on 1's.

I say blitz farve to hell ...

but obviously not on everyplay. I like our safety and corner blitz's ... or where we have 2 Dlinemen and blitz 2 others (the other team doesnt know which 2 since 6 are sitting at the line of scrimmage).

Check out the way sanfran and the jets blitzed was quite interesting.

To elaborate more on my how to beat the Vikings idea. I'd rather Adrian Peterson beat us, than Brett Favre. We've lost to Adrian before, we've never lost to Brett starting against us. If Brett beats us with little help from Adrian, then I think things will be very bad. If we shut Brett down and let Adrian run himself tired. It's same ole same ole.

MN runs the ball best to their left, behind McKinney and Hutch. So to beat them it is important to hold that side of the line. Even his big run against us was a cut back from a run left of center.

Matthews/Poppinga need to establish the end and hold contain. Jenkins and Pickett need to plug the side. Make Peterson work for what he gets. Make him stop and start searching for things.

If Peterson or Taylor are in the back field. That side of the D needs controlled. Bring the rush from Kampman, Jolly/Raji With blitzing from Hawk, Woodson, Collins/Martin/Chillar.

If they go empty, make sure somebody is blitzing from somewhere, anywhere.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Very, very good point. I don't think I could stand watching SportsCenter for a week if Favre has a good game, unless, of course, we win. I know these guys want this win so badly, but I still wonder if we have the talent to pull it off. I just hope Aaron has a great game with multiple touchdown passes. So we won't hear a lot of negative things about his play. All in all, our defense has gotten the turnovers, and if our o-line can protect Rodgers for this game I think we can win.

On another note. Packers NEED to convert on 3rd downs. They are 12/36 on converting third downs. Thats good for what 33%. They gotta have long drives and dominate the clock. Take the crowd out of the game.

i am more worried about how the o line will hold up, if they dont get a run game going it will be very hard for rodgers to get time to pass
