I don't know, am the only one that isn't "that" impressed about the Vikings???

Yeah they were road wins and a win is a win but they looked vulernable against the Browns and Lions. Then the 49ers game. You take away that miracle, they lose at home against a team:

WITHOUT Gore; and
Didn't convert on a SINGLE 3rd down.

They seem to I guess put it togethr when they need to, which is an excellent skill but I feel if they play a good team thats on, they won't be in a position to put it together (i.e. down by 14 with 5 mins left)?

The run defense is legit, its still as good as before but the pass defense isn't anything special to me. Plus the Offense at times looks useless (but scary if they get it togethr).

I don't know, at this point, I don't think they are hands on better than the Packers at all. Maybe they will live up to the expectations later on but ta this point, we have a very real chance of winning the division.

They threw the ball over 40 times and won. That's a major plus for Minnesota regardless of how they won the game.

I think they're good, but not as good as maybe the media is making them out to be. I think for example the Giants are the team to beat in the NFC and the Ravens are much better in the AFC than them. I also think the Saints could score points on them and a slew of 2-1 teams including the Packers can play with them.

Let's put it this way.... Green Bay is good enough to beat the Vikings, but the Vikings are good enough to beat the Packers too.

You bring up valuable points. If we take away the 'flukey' blocked field goal, the game doesn't look the way it did. I mean, if you want to take away the Favre-magic.. (Face it, you guys had it for 16 years.. time so share.)

I'm quite concerned. Whenever their strength (D-line, pressure) hooks into our weakness (O-line, protection) as it does, you have to be concerned, really. I mean, we did alright against the Rams, but they're the rams. We're lucky that the match-up for Barbre should be mostly against Edwards, a mediocre DE, but the interior line will really get tested and so will Colledge. I can even see them move Allen around a bit.

That said, it's pretty much like Porky stated already. They're good enough to beat us, but we're good enough to beat them as well. At this time, though, I'd put the Vikings down as favorites. We just have to hope that we can exploit their secondary and maybe get Finley matched up on the LBs. Vernon Davis was open quite a few times yesterday.

The best matchup the Packers have going for them is when they spread things out. If I'm the Packers I spread out the field and I run from three and four wide sets and I run outside. I get Edwards and Allen on their feet. I make them think like they got a free shot at Rodgers. I also run screens. The Vikings d-line knows the Packers o-line is struggling. They'll be licking their chops to get at Rodgers. Use that to your advantage. Test their discipline.

I also throw from those formations a lot, but I don't throw deep, I keep it short. I tell Rodgers to dump it off and take the three yard gain if he can. I take a few calculated shots down the field as the game goes on.

One thing I like about the Packers this year is they've only turned the ball over one time. Now they're due to have some turnovers, but if they can limit them while also forcing some against the Vikings, Green Bay could find away to make everything equal.

I as well would say Minnesota is the favorite. I think they'll be about a seven point favorite.

I dont know if the bookies are wrong atm ... but gb only has a +3.5 (which is typical when you play away.

I was hoping for better odds.

As far as the game goes. The vikings front 4 is something serious. I'm not worried much about our guys (well except for our Oline); I'm more concerned about our play calling - if MM plans to run grant up the middle again 30times. Then forget our run game. If we sweep or hit the edges we have a much better chance.

oh ya and run to the right away from allen ;)

but ya our seconday is much better then what SF has. IMO the best in the league.

Should be a good game; if we can play as good of D as we did vs. chicago we got a good chance.

I'm actually hoping farve starts throwing downfield more. I know woodson/harris/williams/jolly could use some more catches.

That's surprising because it's in Minnesota and I think most would consider the Vikings to be a lot better than Green Bay. Interesting that on a neutral field this game would be a pick em then.

Responding to the bolded portion: I'm willing to bet they'll move him around a lot, because you know they want to match him up with Barbre. Plus, with all the fans smack-talking about wanting our D to flatten Favre, you know their D wants to go ahead and pop Rodgers in the mouth as well.

This week's preparation better be centered on keeping Rodgers clean, IMO.
