Does anyone think another reason for this cut was to show players they have to perform and if they dont they will be gone?

As I said right after the release of Anthony Smith, if that's the reason for this decision, it means there's a new sheriff in town, and I like it. No more Mr. Nice Guy, please. Put out or get out.

This was not we choose one guy over another and now we are going back on that, McCarthy said. That would not be accurate. Whether thats your opinion or not, Im just telling you what the facts are.

Things do happen. Where we were a couple of weeks ago and a number of new elements that enter into this discussion part of (it was) the people that we worked out on Tuesday. Thats just the way our personnel department has always operated. There are some moving targets that you are always looking at in the personnel side of this.

Does he try to state things as difficult as possible? Is this like his way of saying 'We should've kept Smith, but I'm not budging'?

He's trying to use as many words as possible to say absolutely nothing. There is virtually no syntactical meaning whatsoever in that quote. Whoever he's taken lessons in obfuscation from, he's learned well.

As far as Rouse.. his liabilities have been known for some time.. I find it odd aside from a loud statement from Ted and/or Mike that the nepotism that has been shown in the past is coming to a end on their parts.. Moll, Rouse, Brohm.. all were drafted by this regime and given ample time to shape up.. there are several more on the roster.

I just hope if that is the case.. playing time starts changing in that respect as well.. yes that is you Barnett and Hawk.. get pinned inside this week again ya hosers.
