Negative. Bishop only had 9 tackles last season on passing plays. 2 of those were for a loss, 2 were forced fumbles, 2 for a gain of 5, 1 for a gain of 3, and the biggest one was for 24 yards. So he gave up one big play during the pass. But thats only if we go by tackles.

Yes because we shouldn't count all the pass plays he messed up that went for TDs or someone else made up for his mistakes.....

Plain and simple Bishop makes too many mistakes when you got Hawk and Chillar and maybe Barnett healthy clearly all ahead of him.

Who says we shouldn't count that? The thing is there is none of that too count. Hes only started one game.

I am not disagreeing with you on who is ahead of him. I am just trying to find out why you underrate bishop so much.

I really don't think Chillar should be starting. He sucks at reading run plays, notice when he's in the game the Run D is worse. He should strictly only be in on 3rd and long occasions. Hawk OTOH, does what he's supposed to do. He always has, the one exception is when he switched to MLB which for him was a little out of position(in Sanders 4-3) especially coming back from a nasty groin injury. He was playing great before he got injured. His role in this D is to do the "dirty work". He will usually be the 1st LB to be picked up by a blocker to allow the other LB(s) to get a better shot at rushing the QB or to stop the run. I wouldn't expect him to put up big numbers but, he'll surely contribute a lot and if the pre-season is of any indication, he'll have a very good season. The coaches have high praises for him for a reason. Also I will laugh if he stays in on 3rd downs cause the Green Bay Press G. always try to nitpick the bad things from TT's draft picks and they really expect Hawk to be taken out..At this point though it's speculation until we see it actually happening

I'm nearly positive Hawk will be in the game on all 3 downs. Actually, I think the coaching staff has been more impressed by Hawk this preseason than any of our other linebackers. He's not the guy who makes flashy plays like Bishop, but as you say, he'll do the things that won't show up on the stat sheet. Last year was rather disappointing for him, but that groin injury cannot be tossed aside like several Bears will be tomorrow. It's painful and he managed to play through it because Hawk below 100% was much better than the rest of our options.

I always said since our transition that one or our two ILBs wouldn't pan out, thinking Hawk would be that guy. But from what I saw of Hawk this preseason, he'll be okay. Barnett has that intensity and leadership so I REALLY hope he too will prove me wrong and make this transition a success. Of course, Hawk could disappear again or get exploited in coverage and everything we saw in preseason was just a fluke. Who knows? The season starts tomorrow and we should finally have some questions answered, hopefully in a winning effort.

Here's the deal.

If your supposedly worst linebacker is A.J. Hawk, then you have some pretty good linebackers.
