Mike Reinfeldt worked for the Packers for 8 years, a Wisconsin native and now Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Titans.
Should have been GM of the Packers.
Can you imagine that, a GM that can actually communicate.

I've never had a problem understanding what Ted Thompson was saying or why he was saying it.

For as much as I like the way Ted has built this team and the decisions he has made... one thing is very clear.. he is a poor public speaker and is very much an introvert with his communications style.

Also, with the whole Brett Favre saga, in my mind, there is a level of responsibility for the collapse of communication between Brett and the franchise that falls at the feet of Thompson.

But does that make him any less of a GM of this franchise.. I think not. Unless you are a fan that is looking for insight from his pressers. πŸ˜‰

Ted Thompson doesn't think anyone is worthy of hearing what goes on in his genius mind.

Ted Thompson communicates enough to get by. I suspect being slightly distant helps him to not worry so much about his public perception. One thing which I like about him is that he doesnt make decisions to be popular, or to protect his legacy. He seems committed to making the best calls for the organization, not himself or the fans feelings.

I'd rather a TT-like GM rather than a chatty numbskull.

Matt Millen was and is a very good public communicator.

If he doesn't divulge the inner workings of the front office, there is a reason for it. I don't understand why this is so hard for people to accept, especially those who simultaneously feel that Belichick is a football genius when he won't even talk about his injured players to local media.

Thompson is driven by a few very strong beliefs. I can't recall him ever attacking people through the media (he was VERY careful during the whole Favre saga), and I can't recall him ever divulging things that other teams may use to their benefit or to the Packers' detriment. It's all very simple. I admire the way he handles the media. People just keep blasting him for being how he is, but he knows what he's doing and he's not going to fold like a cheap hooker punched in the stomach by a fat guy with pock marks all over his face just because of the lame attacks on him by people who understand his job far worse than he does.

+1 to you for that post, sir! I couldn't have expressed my opinion of Ted Thompson any better than this. I think we will see Thompson around for years to come.
