The important thing with this preseason, when it's been ones vs. ones, we've pretty much dominated on both sides of the ball. Even if the Bills or Browns aren't exactly up to par, good teams dominate mediocre and less teams which is what we've done the last two weeks. The 21 points we gave up to the Bills were pretty much with the second and third stringers.

I'm not overly concerned about ILB because we've got 3 good guys in Hawk, Chillar, and Bishop who can man it well enough until Barnett can get back to full strength.

My bigger concern is still with the guys at OLB. Kampman has been doing well in his transition, but I don't think either the Bills or Browns really did much to challenge him in coverage and the Cardinals TEs don't exactly put the fear of god in most NFC linebacking corps either. Poppinga has been doing an adequate job at LOLB, but I'm really hoping we will finally be able to get at least Matthews and/or Thompson out on the practice field this week so the "penciled in" guys at ROLB will finally get some much needed work since there are only two presason games left.

My favorite play was when Jenkins lined up as a OLB and blew up a run play in the backfield. You know your defense is unpredictable when a 300+ pd guy is lined up in a two point stance lol.

does anybody really believe that Bishop WON'T beat Hawk out of a job? i just have a feeling...

...i have a feeling Bishop starts for Barnett until Barnett is proven to be healthy. i could actually see Hawk being traded.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Holy shit, Raji looked amazing in that highlight video. He dropped into coverage, he pushed guys off the line. But what impressed me most was how trim he looks. He seems to have cut down on the body fat significantly. He didn't strike me as your typical blob of a defensive lineman whatsoever.

Surprise...surprise...good/great defensive coach(es) do make a difference.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

Some idiot in my FF league dropped that Packers defense. I snapped them up immediately.

Why would anyone do that? After the first two dominating performances we put on? If the first two preseason games are any indication, we've got the best damn defense in the league.

I'm with you, man - my two Ds for fantasy are Pittsburgh and the Pack. I won't be at all surprised if I start the Pack in place of Pitt some weeks.

With the way my new work schedule has worked out this season,I have only been able to see the pre-season games as replays. The one thing that really stands out about this years defense is the way the D has been sticking their tackles this year.In the past it seems like the players were bouncing off WR's and RB's like a tennis ball against a garage door. This season there may be some yardage gained but once one of our players gets there,BANG,thats it.No more yardage gained.

D has been a beast so far. Very excited to see how they do during the regular season. But, I am loving the D in this preaseason.
