Greg_A_Bedard: BTW, Justin Harrell's back is back at square one. Again they are trying to find the problem. He talked today like his career could be over.

The Packers are sending out studies to specialists to try to come up with yet another game plan for healing their 2007 first-round draft pick. But even for a generally jovial guy like Harrell who in May pronounced himself cured after an offseason visit to a Green Bay chiropractor its difficult to be optimistic.

He gets ridiculed a lot, but he sounds like a great kid. Was/Am really hoping that it'd/it'll work out. Go Harrell.

Its probably been the worst week of my life, Harrell said. Of anything Ive been through, all the injuries and things like that this is definitely the toughest. You get up so high and youre feeling good, and just like that, Im back to where I was before.

I feel bad for the guy. I don't think his body can hold up to the NFL. Not that that is a real stretch there.

I don't care how great of a kid he is. The fact is he has a track record of utter failure. From all appearances, he can't do the job, and he's being a drain on the Packers' resources, while taking up a roster spot that could be occupied by someone who is healthy and able to perform the function of defensive lineman. The Packers need to cut dead weight, not drag it along behind. It's time to end this kid's misery, give him an injury settlement, and wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Maybe it's time to give Soi or Bledsoe another look.

He's not wasting a roster spot. There are options, such as PUP to spare a roster spot in the season.

Regardless, I think it's time for him to use his college degree. Hope he graduated.

At the very least PUP, maybe the IR shelf him for the year and re-evaluate again in the winter.. then make that decision to retire or give it another go.

Disappointing for him I am sure, personally, anything we got from him was a bonus this season. But I hope they make the IR move before it costs us anyone that might get a longer look in the preseason.

On a different note... Johnny Jolly eased my concerns about him on Saturday.. very active and solid.

According to Fosterdave, he can't go on the PUP. The only option for him is IR. I still prefer we cut him. Gambling on a miracle isn't smart business.

After reading the article, I feel like it doesn't offer any new insight into his actual situation, in my opinion. I'm willing to wait it out, but he needs to be able to go this season. That's a little less than 4 weeks. I hope they find a solution soon.

TT needs to approach his mistake and cut him. Why pay first round money to someone who cant even play half a season as a starter let alone a back up? He's proven that he is not fit for the NFL yet Ted Thompson gives him X amount of chances. Time to move on !
