Breaking news on the CNNSI front page...

New York Times: David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003

Well... if that is true.. then there isn't a soul in baseball I trust... not freaking one of them.

Saw a lot of people talk about this on twitter. I still can't imagine that the MLB takes such a loose approach to steroid use. I mean, this isn't only a problem in the MLB, but it'll have a ripple effect which will eventually influence high school players as well. If you can take steroids to make yourself better, why not do it? The health risks are 'minimal'.

I don't know what makes Ortiz so special to you, but I asume that he has a great character to go with his big hitting ability. Truly a shame.

First is his body type.. doesn't fit the profile.

Second is his personality.. seemed so honest and likable.

Third.. I think it is safer to assume all players are guilty until the entire list of names is revealed.. there seems to be no way to "pick them out" at this point..

The game has been tainted to the point that nothing can be trusted or no one.

Is this really vindication for a Yankees fan? Seems to me like A-rod still did roids, along with the others whose names have come out.

I personally remember a certain League Championship series that 2004 year, and who knew we were playing 2 steroid users? Both Ortiz and Ramirez have been prooven for steroids, both! Ha!

So you are keeping a tally of those guilty... hmmm..

Clemens
Pettite
A-Rod
Giambi

lol...

Regardless.. it doesn't change the fact the you really can't be sure of any player and if he was clean or not.

Yeah, but if you look at his stats, it very much points to it. Never had more than 20 homers before playing with Boston, then suddenly 41, 47, 54.

Listening to Cowherd the other day, he brought up a great point about the Mitchell Report. Most of the names came from a Mets trainer and a Yankees trainer, which translates into most of these names being East Coast guys. Which could make this list much less than complete, which many people thought anyway.

Not surprised one bit at all. Seems like everyone in baseball is on 'roids. Hopefully Pujols stays clean.

Completely off topic, it is so confusing having a go.pack.go and a gopackgo on the same forum. But you both make excellent contributions to this site, so I can't complain. :magnifyglass:

beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
