Cause when i think "Packer person" i think Mike Vick.....right.

I'm sure his flipping off the crowd would be as welcome as Rodgers comments about the fans. Not to mention his hobbies (Marijuana / Dog Killing).

Dude served his LEGAL sentence....and now the Commish will issue his NFL sentence...and deservedly so. 4 games minimum!

And no, don't want his sorry ass touching hallowed Lambeau field, unless he is being pummeled by Green and Gold jerseys.

I don't think he should even get 4 games hell he has been suspended for 2 years and basically lost 50 million dollars. He paid his debt and should have a fair chance to make a living.

Agreed. Even though I despise what he did (victimizing children or animals is about the lowest thing a person can do, IMO), he's paid his debt to society, and has certainly had his life turned on end. I think a simple "You do ONE more little thing wrong and you'll never play professional football again" clause is sufficient, and appropriate.

As for having him in GB, unless they determine that neither of the backup QBs can cut it and there aren't any capable passers that they can acquire, I don't see much value in that proposition. Yeah, he'd be great in a Wildcat setup, but once he got on the field the other team would know that's what was coming.

Well i'm glad the old NFL commissioner didn't think like you because i wouldn't have been able to watch one of the best linebackers of all time play. Ray Lewis had murder charges on him and he got a second chance and look what he has done since.

So a kid with more money than any of us can even dream of having makes a mistake in life, he should be punished for the rest of his life?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I guess I just look at it as "awe poor Vick". I will never in my life make as much money as he has already made in his short life. I'm out there busting my ass to support my family and if i even got busted with a small amount of what he's done, i'd be out on my butt with no second chance. I guess I should feel sorry for the kid. I'm sure the things he's done have been honest mistakes. Moments of stupidity from someone who tried to make the best of what he had. God knows in a lifestyle like that, you need some sort of release....sorry, not buyin it.

You are absolutely correct. But he also has the right to be bood and verbally harrassed for the rest of his career. Hell, I'll forgive the guy for being a dumbass with his cultural choice of dogfighting.

It's the "Ron Mexico" clubbing where he irresponsibly spread his diseased love that I have the problem with. Every woman should have had a law suit on him. What's most appalling is the NFL and ESPN shut that story down to protect what they thought was a future golden boy.

He'd have to come CHEAP.
And he would have to make it as a RB. He's not a great QB.

"Cheesey" wrote:

He just got out of jail, and not too many NFL teams I know would bother with him. He WILL be cheap.

He's not a great QB, but neither are Flynn and Brohm.

I look at it like this. Remember when we signed Woodson? We had Harris and Carroll. Anybody is better than Carroll.

If it makes your team better, you go for it.

Rodgers really doesn't have anything to worry about. He signed a contract that's going to keep him here. Vick would be playing for a bare-boned salary and would only see playtime during gadgets.

McCarthy runs gadgets from time-to-time.

I'm not saying we SHOULD take a run with him, but I would definitely be in support. Should Rodgers go down, not only is Vick more experienced, but he's WON games before without much talent around him. I don't have to remind you guys about what he did that year we lost our first playoff game at Lambeau.

A mistake?

Haze you are a much better person than I.

To tell you the truth, I still haven't forgiven the guy for the whold unpublicized "Ron Mexico" episode. He should have been brought up on charges years ago for spreading his diseased love around. Maybe we could have skipped the whole dog incident.

Haze, how do feel about this exemplary example of a person getting a second chance?

I think that he deserves another chance. His crimes where not related to his job in any way. Don't get me wrong, what he did was awfull, but I think that the NFL would make a great example by getting him back in. It's way too hard for ex-criminals to get back into society. If you couldn't get your old job back because you stole something out of your neighbours house, shouldn't that be weird rather than 'what you deserve'?

His unique skill set would make for a great asset on any team. Ted Thompson appears to be very pleased with his team and might even over eveluate them, so what better to add than a role player who can come in and spark your offense and just light up the stadium?

Whether it'd be worth the circus, I don't know. There is going to be a lot of crap going in at whatever team signs him.
