New category.

Generational clutch, still applying same criteria (the first name thingy) with some editorializing to refresh fellow geezer memories.

That goddamn Roger.

(See, it works, lol)

The biggest clutch guy I remember is john elway. Used to love watching his 4th quarter drives. Ya he threw some hail marys but many times he threw the clutch plays.

I have to laugh when i hear people compare LeBron and Kobe to the greatest of all time. Like Dfoster said when it comes to basketball you just have to say Michael. Here is some of the buzzer beaters and most are in the playoffs.

Ok i have to add this because it was before the NBA became a pansy league with the flagrant fouls crap. I will never forget the dunk over Ewing.
plus i like the guy at the 2:15 mark he goes up to block and then turns away like oh shit i'm gonna be on a poster lol.
I miss those days of going to the old Chicago Stadium and the intros would start i would get goosebumps. They moved to the United Center and it just wasn't the same.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Hmm this thread isn't just about football 🙂. Is there anyone out there who thinks Kobe is a better overall player than Jordan was? Just for conversation 😃

Joe Montana. The guy is just sick. Watch the America's Game episode of teh 1988 49ers. They're down 13 - 16 against the Bengals, everyone's feeling the pressure, and Joe tells his guys to look at the other end-zone and points out that John Candy is sitting there.

What a way to keep your cool and to eventually finish it off with that classic drive.

This is one of the most clutch moments to me, though. It wont say as much to you guys as it does to me, but this goal is scored with 20 seconds left. Just listen to the commentary and you know how amazing a moment that was. And that's while our commentators are usually very laid back and don't put too much emotion in it.

That is just beautiful, to be able to control the ball like that. Hell of a pass too.

edit: one of the more recent clutch moments I remember was this:

17 year old kid, first game for United's first team, 93rd minute curling winner. Without this goal I don't think United would have won the title this past season. Clutch.

haha all these basketball buzzer beaters ... I do have to admit I used to love watching jordan - only reason I liked basketball back then.

Farve has some decent rushes a few times when the time counted. But like I said I always remember elway in his 4th quarter comebacks.

I think theres a video on it also

Jordan. Easy.

Also, I couldn't find it on YouTube, but when I think 'clutch', outside of thinking about Jordan, I think of Steve Young getting his helmet yanked off, and continuing to scramble/run the ball. Not to mention the run in '88 against the Vikings to put the 49ers in the playoffs.
