Green Bay - The Packers announced the signings of linebacker Brad Jones, cornerback Brandon Underwood and defensive end Jarius Wynn.

Jones was a seventh-round pick, and Underwood and Wynn were sixth-round picks.

The Packers also signed tight end Devin Frischknecht, a rookie out of Washington State. He caught 17 passes for 221 yards as a senior.

Frischknecht, 22, is married with a son.

The Packers released cornerback Joshua Abrams.

Nice and early. I would like to see Raji signed, though. Just to see how much that will set the organization back moneywise.

Frischknecht, I hadn't heared anything about. I wonder if he'll be on the roster for a very long time. He had a very mediocre college career, apparently. Here's some stuff on him. And he has a German-like name.

Generally the first day picks are the last to sign, because there is a lot to negotiate, whereas the late round picks pretty much just get a contract based on where they were picked.

I know, but I just like a 1st rounder to be signed early. I really don't want to go through this TC crap.

Two guys are signed already and I'm hoping that more will follow soon. Even while it's still unlikely so soon.

Damn. I was going to post last night asking if we had signed any draft picks. I would have looked smart! Dammit!

I don't expect our 1's to be signed til a week before Training Camp starts at the earliest.

As one who always criticized Andrew Brandt for not getting started soon enough and not getting all the picks signed in time until his final year of doing it, I am happy.

Taking vacation and not getting it started until after July 4th always bothered me.

I realize I was in the minority.

Ever since the Bears had trouble with Cedric Benson they have been committed to to getting the signing done well ahead of time. Again this year they are one of the league's leaders.

There is nothing wrong with getting the job done.

Andrew Brandt had every pick signed in time all the way back to I think 2004.

No they may have reported a day late, but Brandt only got his final draft class signed before training camp started.

Where are you obtaining this information from and where can I view it for myself please?

Rodgers was signed the night before. He was signed in time and was the final one signed. Wasn't Brandt the contract fella during that time?

I think I found that Harrell was signed the day before TC as well, wasn't that a Brandt contract? Or was that Ball?

I haven't checked any others.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : It's my one day deal complaint dept. on shareholder meeting day
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Resulting in an actual drop of net revenue of 12.5%. She is from Minnesota. Just sayin'

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Did Savion Williams run into a goalpost or something?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : also, no bueno when a guy starts getting concussions right off the bat in his career
Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Concussion is worse. Banks probably vet off day via back booboo claim
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : @AndyHermanNFL Jordy Nelson out at camp today. No word if he’s in play for one of the two open roster spots ; )
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Is that better or worse than Banks bad back?
Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Savion concussion ... not good.
packerfanoutwest (24-Jul) : Aaron Rodgers’s first pass of first team period was picked off
