I'm more worried about Westbrook.

I would have rather contended with Gore than him.

If we shut Westbrook down, it'll be the 1st time we ever did.

He owns us, and the trend isn't good, based on last week... the prototypical RB to give us fits.

IMO, the reason that Westbrook has owned us in the past is because we were always terrified of McNabb, because he always plays well against us. We would spend more time preparing for him, which would always open the door for Westbrook. This week, we know that Westbrook will be more of a force than Troy Smith, so we will be able to prepare with more emphasis on the guy that always makes us look silly.

Good point, but I'm a little nervous about Westbrook too. And Troy Smith is sort of a poor man's McNabb--a good running QB. I hate playing against running QBs. I have nightmares about it, going all the way back to Fran Tarkenton. Man, that guy was hard to catch!

They don't ALWAYS pose serious risk, however. Case in point, Tarvaris Jackson. He is a very mobile QB, but not a good one. Also, we have mobile OLB's who can run him down and force fumbles.

I don't thin GB is gonna get much snow. Only a couple of inches.
I worry about EVERY game. Any team can beat you if you don't prepare for them.

From San Jose Mercury News:

2) 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Johnson suggested that rookie right tackle Anthony Davis will get some help against Packers pass-rushing monster Clay Matthews (111/2 sacks). Asked if Davis was ready for such a big challenge, Johnson said, "We'll have to be ready as a protection group. So it's not going to be solely on Anthony Davis. It's going to be a group effort to try to make sure that we get these guys blocked in a passing situation."/

The gameplan will be to shut the run down and make Smith throw it. I don't see any numbers that shows Smith a threat running it. Something like 16 carries for 65 yards and averaging I think sixteen yds a game. He might get out on a couple but he's not going to hurt us that much like a McNabb or Vick.

We should put this team away. They are in a very tough spot playing on a short week having to play road games back to back. I don't think the league should put any team in that position, but hey, it happens to fall for us so let's take it and put them down early.

Ah, but Jackson isn't a real quarterback. He can't even beat out Voldemort for playing time.
