Driver A-OK
Receiver Donald Driver practiced on Wednesday for the first time since OTAs began last week, but he denied that his absence to this point was due to any dissatisfaction with his contract, as several media outlets reported last week.

Driver confirmed his agent is having discussions with the Packers about "reworking" parts of his deal, but that he was absent last week for family reasons. He said he stayed home in Texas with his children while his wife attended the out-of-state funeral of a relative, and earlier this week his son graduated from kindergarten.

"We talked about negotiating a new deal, but there's no drama between (me and the Packers) at all," Driver said. "Nothing at all. It was family and personal issues."

Driver said he plans to attend the rest of the OTA sessions as well as the mandatory mini-camp later this month.

Sounds to me like he just wants more years added to his deal. More job security.

I liked his comments about the media. That was good stuff. Very true as well. It sucks some of us fall for their negative theories at times.

I agree, he has stated numerous times that he wants to play until he is 40 so he wants a contract that will get him closer to that goal.

Did you catch Driver saying that Jennings will have 3 or 4 more contracts before he's done playing?

Except contracts mean nothing in the NFL. Just because he signs a 3-year deal doesn't mena he is guaranteed the money.

Once again, we have found out that if there IS no story, the media will make one up.
It's not "reporting" anymore, it's "Do you think he's mad?" fake journalism.

I blame the economy. The editors are pushing their writers to find things to write about and grab peoples attention so the readers flock to them. The general population feeds off negativity and when theres a chance to ink negative comments, they view it as opportunity to grab an audience. It's common knowledge that writers would rather be first to report and wrong than second and accurate.

isnt it odd of him to say he wants to keep his legacy intact?

I'm not sure i understand what you're saying? Most contracts signed in the nfl do infact include a certain amount of "garunteed" money(ie signing bonus etc). That the players will get even if they are cut.

As always, Drivers shows he is a class act.
