Everone's criticizing him for giving the same answers over and over again, but they asked him the same questions over and over again, so you can't really blame the guy.

I think he's unhappy about being moved from DE to OLB.
I think he's also unhappy with how some of the media is saying he won't make the transition.
I think the latter is why (coupled with focusing on football) he avoided some questioning earlier on.

As I've said before and will say again. I do not question that he's not happy.\\ and I don't blame him if he's not happy. Fact is, he's in camp and working out and from all accounts he's busting his ass like always. What the fuck else do we want from him?

Check out THIS  clip of Kampman and compare his mannerisms with the latest one. Or find any other clip. This was the first one I found. Does he appear happy here?

You asked and I showed you..It was ALL over the place when they switched that he wasn't going to work out in the 3-4..not sure why you dont recall it...

I think he probably is unhappy that he was asked to switch AND unhappy the media has been dogging him over this. We all are unhappy doing a job at one point in our life and we still did it..

Being unhappy OKAY, he is at the otas and trying as hard as he can ( or one would think he is) So give it a rest already...

Until he comes out and says he hates it, or rather play somewhere else, its not going to get anyone anywhere by ASSUMING he really hates this

He won't say he hates it. He won't say he doesn't like it. He's just not that kind of a person. From what I have seen of him that is what I believe.

Who would be happy about this change? Sure, argue that Jeremy Thompson is happy, but did he spend seven years mastering the DE position well enough to be a Pro Bowler? No. Is he in his last year of his contract just before he hits 30? No.

Thompson has every right to be happy.
Kampman has several valid reasons to be apprehensive.

Great, what is this argument about them?

You think he's unhappy with the switch and so do I. That's all I've ever said.

What part of what I'm saying do you disagree with if you thinks he unhappy with the switch like I do?

I don't take joy in it like you ASSUME I do so if that's what your assumption is, and the reason for your anger at me, you are wrong.

Someone wondered if it might adversely impact his pay...incentives, etc.

Sure doesn't look like it could.

His base pay is 3.9 million. There is 2 million in pro-rata signing bonus, which has already been paid. (Although it is possible he is getting some of that as he goes) There is only 100k in LTBE's --"Likely to be earned" incentives.

Looking at everyone's contract, Kampy is in one of the best positions pay-wise, were there to be a drop-off in the types of things that earn players bonuses...his "bonus potential" is very small, especially when compared to other players in his pay range. It probably isn't something he would even bother trying to get re-worked.

...At least according to the info I have.

I've said the SAME thing many times. It's not me who keeps trying to start a pissing match here. I've been saying the same thing over and over.

You're comments about saying HA that the video proves (in your opinion) that he's unhappy suggests you're happy that he's unhappy. At least, that's how I took it and last I checked I'm allowed four more opinions on this forum for the day. Crap, three!

btw, I am not wrong. I am not angry. Well, I am still pissed about the Titans game. Does that count?

"Historically, the 3-4 has been a sound defense," and "it's a new scheme, so I'm learning it. I'm not saying I don't like it, I'm saying I'm learning it," and "new techniques, new terminology. All in all it's learning the new system."

Asked if he was hesistant to play in the new scheme, he said no, that was "something the media has talked about."

Having covered Kampman since his rookie year since 2002, I must say it was the first awkward exchange I can recall with him being questioned about the defense, and this is a guy who has gone through a ton of different defensive coordinators.

This is reading WAY into this, but thought it was worth noting because I'm bored.

I think this is why players do not like talking to the media. If you say a report is wrong, then the media can come back an ink that you've changed and thus you are the bad guy once more.

I'm wondering how much of his displeasure with the questions is there's so much focus on him, not the team and Kampman has always been a team guy. I think that plays into some things here as well.

I think he knows they just want him to badmouth the org and say he is pissed off but he isn't gonna bring the drama like they had last year.

That's how professional athletes should act. When faced with a challenge he is going to work hard to get better at it instead of bitching to the media and complaining about his "situation"
