ONE YEAR.

Interesting....

I would love to have been a fly on the wall of Ted's office when he negotiated and closed that signing.

Great news. I'd love to see the financial part of it, but I guess they didn't release that. I asume it's a slightly cheap one year contract, so he can get some more money when Harris retires or is released next year.

What happened to Lee, btw?

Williams' return gives the Packers depth at cornerback. They also have Al Harris, Charles Woodson, Jarrett Bush and Will Blackmon at the position.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I wish he would've signed a long term deal. My head thinks that Tramon wanted a short term deal so he could dazzle them this season and get the long term deal next season. Risky. I guess it's better than him signing a long term deal now, then "outplay" his contract, get pissy, and decide to take his marbles and go home.

Good news. Giving him a one year contract was probably in Tramon's best interest. Even though everyone knows he'll be a starter soon, they aren't going to give him a stareters contract while he's still a nickleback.

I am not sure about that.... Sounds to me like his agent may have.... "Caved In." Until the numbers are released it is up in the air.

One thing is for sure... He did not capitalize on the Ryan Grant momentum in Re-Upping.

Let's go back almost Three Months...

I hope jennings is next, then collins.

Jennings 6 yr / 42 mill .. well deserved

Collins 3 yr / 19 mill .. well deserved THIS season

The 1 year deal was in best interest for both parties. I've enjoyed the flashes of excitement he can bring to the game, but I also remember the bad parts. I have a hunch that he'll be better in the zone coverage schemes. But if I'm wrong and he isn't good enough to be a starter then we aren't stuck with a long contract.

Tramon Williams contract details

"The National Football Post has learned that Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams has signed a one-year deal worth a good bit more than the $460,000 Williams was due as an exclusive rights free agent. Williams will receive a salary of $525,000 and a signing bonus of $375,000 for a one-year compensation total of $900,000.
More on this story to come."
