Packers rookie linebacker Clay Matthews said an interview today that he has not decided if he is going to a sue a Web site that posted an erroneous report saying he had tested positive for steroids at the NFL Combine in February.
"I don't know, to be honest," Matthews said on the Dan Patrick radio show today. "I'm just trying to focus on the football aspect and let my agent take care of it."
"I'm going to talk to my agent to see what we are going to do," Matthews said. "It's a guy sitting behind a computer that has his own Web site. So there is not much to take away except his site. But I'm sure his reputation has been damaged enough by this."
Matthews, who said he has never played a game in the snow, is going to wear jersey number 52.
No one in the Packers' organization has asked him to cut his long hair.
"Especially being on a team with A.J. Hawk with his long hair, I'm in good company," Matthews said. "I'm looking forward to it. It was funny, another rookie (on Wednesday) said I was looking like a wrestler."
If you want to get technical, Matthews said his name is Clay Matthews III, not Clay Matthews Jr. But if you call him Clay Matthews Jr., that's all right with him.
