55 regular season games with 300 or more yards for Brett Favre. Eight shy of Marino's record.

So that's ... 55 games out of 273 game he's played in. That's something like 20% right? That's about 3 or 4 a season.

So that's a bad thing?

What the hell? lol

Who said it was a bad thing? I didn't say anything of the such. I simply put down some FACTS and let others decide if its good or bad. When you can depend on one out of 4 games to be a 300 yard performance out of your offense, I think that's good. Just ask the Bears. lol I think Brett has more 300 yard games than entire franchise of the Bears has!

He's had alot of 300+ yard games in his career.

The Sherman years skewed his average though, since they were primarily a running team.

"TheOldMan" wrote:

But the Holmgren years didn't skew them at all because it was a pass oriented offense? This is the thinking process of yours that has some of us ... baffled! :)

I guess he just sucks then, and shouldn't be going to the Hall of Fame, then?

All of his numbers are skewed so F*ck Favre!

I just don't get some of the logic around here, and I don't reallly mean you, Slick.

No one is attacking your passion for Brett and his greatness. Myself specifically, I am saying what the numbers do. I didn't say one way or the other. I tend to be one of those chumps who likes to think open mindedly and think of how things look from other angles. You had mentioned the Sherman years skewed his numbers, well, what about the Holmgren years where we were a pass oriented team? Do you see the dilemma I have with that train of thought?

Really?

How'd he get all those passing records then?

Must have something to do with McCarthy or Ted Thompson, according to your illogic, I guess.

Brett is the worst QB ever!! Marino is a million times better than Favre just because of the 300 yard stat! F*ck Favre!

You're making us sound like Captain Hyberbole here when we're obviously not. You're also putting out straw man fallacies that posters obviously never said.

old man - how do YOU know the whole story? were you the proverbial "fly on the wall" in the offices when discussions were taking place?

you are making mountains out of mole hills. there is not one person on this site who is 100% on brett's side NOR 100% on managements side. you pick apart every post made by certain people & skew it to fit your "poor brett" argument.

i know brett did a wonderful thing for my dying dad & i will never forget that. for awhile i was pissed as hell at favre for lying when he said he'd never play for another team besides the packers. but in the end, he did alot for the packers & for my dad - so i've let it go.

sadly it's posters like you who won't let it go. we're a family here. we'd like to keep it that way.

If my wife cheats on me, or if she divorces me or if she has an affair with my little brother(Rodgers). If this stuff happens, doesnt all of my promises go out the window? Just like his "i'll never play for another team" promise die?

I dont know what Brett did for your dying father but i'd say that is 100 times more important than any of this drama on here or him going to another team.

I love Favre, he's the greatest, but he just doesn't have the WR's to torch the Packers (with the Vikings that is). I'd be more inclined to say he'd torch the Packers with the Jets WR's than the Vikings. Thinking that the WR's for the Vikings could dominate the Packers secondary ... that's plain foolish. In my opinion of course.

Sidney Rice, Berrian, Bobby Wade, Percy Harvin. Thats more than adequate for a real QB, not a beginner(T. Jackson).

Give T. Jackson Driver, Jennings, Jones, Nelson, Martin. You know what, he wouldn't do all that much better than he's doing now. Vikes have a different type of offense. They dont run much 4 and 5 wide sets. They are a running team.

If the Vikes run a single back, 3wr, 1 te set most of the time, they will be tough to stop with Harvin in the slot. Maybe T. Jackson cant hit the open receiver or sell the play action but Brett can and will. Harvin might get 65 catches in the slot all year with Favre's love of the slant pattern.
