There was a purpose with the smackdown.. maybe Harris will watch that a couple hundred times this offseason and start to tackle with proper form.

That was payback for the hit on his knee the previous year, IMO - just a little playground justice.

And before anyone gets fired up, I know full well Al didn't do that on purpose, and I'm sure AP does as well - but as a RB, you take your spots to let players on the D know that you can and will hit them, also.

This is true, ILike, and I got to participate in that debate "over there", watching that thread go on for more pages than I can count.

And Pack93z...well, he is exactly like you in the sense that he is a true student of the game, seeking an objective analysis of not only the what, but the why, as evidenced in his post just prior to yours.

There is, however, another dimension to rivalries, and I like to explore the edges of the envelope when engaging my fellow zealots from other franchises, and this is where 337 lb. NT's come in handy.

As a "for instance", let's pretend that Pack93z and I are on a Chicago Bears discussion board after we beat them in Lambeau last year. Here is how Z's post would look...

PACK93Z: " I was mostly pleased with our play, and AJ Hawk surprised me in that he seemed to step up far more than I anticipated having watched him struggle early on. That was an excellent interception by Urlacher, Aaron needs to improve his route awareness and not become so myopic in his reads. All in all, having reflected upon the actual play of the two teams involved, I honestly do not feel that the 37-3 score is truly reflective of the talent put on display in that game.

Here comes me...same discussion forum, same thread, same time, same set of circumstances......

That was revenge because Al Harris actually injured AP last year... and we shut the Vikings out. Seriously, that's the only guy in their team worth talking about.

As for the whole LT and O-Line thing... this is how I see it playing out.

LT - Chad Clifton
LG - Daryn Colledge
C - Jason Spitz
RG - Josh Sitton
RT - Allen Barbre

This is the O-Line of the future.

LT - Daryn Colledge
LG - T.J. Lang
C - Jason Spitz
RG - Josh Sitton
RT - Breno Giacomini / Jamon Meredith

Meredith has endless potential, but I heard Giacomini has been impressive.

My favorite pick was Raji... and then Meredith.

If we took the chance on Willie Williams, it WOULD'VE been that guy.

If Quinn Johnson demonstrates the ability to make catches out of the backfield, he'll my favorite pick.

thats the problem - I assume they are asking you what your favorite pick is as of this moment. And its pretty hard to judge these guys without seeming them play.

I couldnt decide yet either ... but to tell you the truth I'm leaning toward matthews (his plays and his demenor (spelling) impressed me)

So I'll go with matthews as my pick.

As far as the poll goes.. your favorite pick in terms of the player himself, the draft position he was obtained and just a plain old gut feel of your favorite.

You have to love your first pick. Especially when it is a TOP Ten Pick.

I voted Mathews because of his story, and pedigree.

I love a walk on, and an over achiever.... Plus he is football strong. This is a kid that is not only going to try to live up to the family name, but sill be a player (I Feel) who has a non stop motor on game day.

We have a saying in the farm country of BC and it is "Farmer Strong." That means Hard Work Strong, and I have seen in my early days a few farm boys who looked like nothing kick the crap out of some very impressive looking dudes.

I like Football strong... as in "It is in his blood to play the game."
