In what will probably be the last year of obscene money for these rookies.

Grab a tendered free agent! Especially attractive would be one in your own division.

You would saddle your opponent with having to pay that ridiculous money, and there IS a "middle" tender of "only" a first round choice, plus you get a proven veteran at a position of need, for far less money.

(I haven't investigated if anyone has used a "middle" tender)

I saw someone mention this over at ESPN.

It's almost diabolical. In the right situation, I like it.
