Second generation players usually have a better understanding of what it takes to be in the NFL.

Here's to a great draft pick and a good solid first contract, I hope Jr. can play as well and as long for The Packers as Sr. did for The Browns.

I know a lot of fans in this area who were hoping he would end up in Cleveland. Their loss The Packers gain.

My bad, point being if he plays as well and half as long as his dad, he will be worth the move into the first rnd. to get him.

Thank god. Now just to get Raji signed. They've probably already started the talking (even before they got the Matthews deal done) so now they should have a whole day (tommorrow) to get things over with.

I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT UNTIL SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!

NFP Contract Details

The National Football Post has just been informed the deal is worth $9.925 million, which is an 8.8% increase over Texans offensive tackle Duane Browns contract from 2008. Both players were drafted in the first round, No. 26 overall.
In addition, Matthews will receive $7.1 million guaranteed (a 9.1% increase over Brown) and $3.1 million in playing time escalators.

I continue to be impressed by this acquisition. If he keeps it up, he could really be a dominant ROLB for years to come.
