Well.......i feel you can NEVER have too many good WR's. If one goes down (which we have seen in the past) it's great to have a guy that can step in and take over. And if Aaron Rodgers gets some GOOD protection this coming year, i really think he can be one of the best QB's in football. Give the guy as many weapons as yo can!
JMO of course.

I don't remember Jason Hunter being fat...no.

And if Jarrett Bush can get 4.5 mil then I think that Tramon can get 5 mil.

Wasnt he that guy that picked up that ball (fumble?) and took it in for a TD? looked like he had a bit of pudge on him

When? Are you talking about the Seattle Monday Night game a couple years ago? That was Abdul Hodge.

I haven't seen enough of him to say anything, really. Maybe he'll excell in this system, much like James Harrison did. Maybe he'll be gone in his first year. It really doesn't matter that much. It's not like he's gotten a big deal and I doubt that we could find a better player for his roster spot (or want to).

Packers | Chery expects to visit
Wed, 18 Mar 2009 13:01:15 -0700

Bob Heist, of The Daily Advertiser, reports Louisiana-Lafayette WR Jason Chery said he expects to meet with the Green Bay Packers.

Could be our 2nd round pick if Ted Thompson holds true to form.

Eerily similar prospect to Jordy Nelson!!

Chery (final season): 46 rec, 656 yds, 7 TD
Nelson (final season): 122 rec, 1606 yds, 11 TD

Chery 5-11 189lbs
Nelson 6-3 217lbs

Chery ranked 52nd among WR's in NFL draft
Nelson in top 10 WR in 2008 draft

I think you're on to something dhazer.

Makes you wonder though, what on earth is he going to do with another late-round receiver? We have one on the practice squad, or at least, had one this season who hasn't done a thing so far. We have 5 currently on our roster. Replacing Ruvell? No faith in Swain? Or maybe just hogging up another one for when Driver leaves?

I think this is the year to pretty much not draft a receiver at all. We're set there. Actually, this should be all-defensive and o-line draft. Or there has to be someone very special falling in to our lap.

Misdirection. Value pick in the late round. Fetish for receivers. Could be all sorts of reasons. Judging by Thompson's previous drafts, predicting a mock for him will be a rather difficult prospect.

Man, I really hope we stay away from ALL wide receivers this year. I don't care if somehow Crabtree fell to the 2nd round (sarcasm) and we could pick him up. NO WIDE RECEIVERS!!!

We have enough already and they all can play.

Want my I hope we stay the hell away prospect.. 25 pounds of muscle mass in the amount of time and you increased your speed and agility... something doesn't add up... 25 of mass in two months is nuts..

So lets say he isn't juicing.. he was just that ran down after the season last year to the point of 227... it spells trouble either way.. we already have an oversided safety/ undersized backer on the roster.. no thank you.

Aaron Maybin...

In response to the Hulk-style changes to the physique of Penn State defensive end Aaron Maybin from mid-January until mid-March, some readers have suggested in the comments that Maybins increased size and speed might have been aided by one or more pharmaceutical enhancements.

Obviously, theres no evidence that Maybin or anyone else is using juice other than orange or cranberry. Or maybe grapefruit.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/18/maybin-trims-40-time-bulks-up/

A before/after photo of Maybin on the pennlive.com web site also shows considerable increases in muscle mass during the past two months. He has gained a total of 25 pounds, increasing from 227 to 252.

Maybin isn't a safety. He never was. He's nothing like Aaron Rouse.

He is a DE in college and has a 6-4 frame and bulking up was in his best interest. I don't know if he juiced or not, but Shawn Merrimen has and I can't think anyone on here who wouldn't want him rushing opposite of Aaron Kampman.

Maybin has the quickest first step of any defensive lineman. He's a boom or bust prospect no doubt, but I think he's clearly on the radar of Ted Thompson this year.

It was more tongue and cheek than anything.. at 227 he isn't going to become a force at OLB..

Can you tell I am not a fan of first round tweeners.. not one little freaking bit..

I should clarify.. top 10 Tweeners.. too much risk with the pick.. do they have the desire snap in and out to not quit and fight out bigger stronger men... can they make the leap in competition where in college they could win on speed alone?

They are risks everytime.. but a 227 it is amplified. Throw in a sudden rapid increase in weight.. no thank you.

He's 20 or 21 years old. By the time he's playing at a high level, he should be playing at about 255 or 260 legit. I probably wouldn't take Maybin if I'm looking for a guy to come in and play good right away. I rather go Everette Brown then.

Remember DeMarcus Ware and Terrell Suggs are some of the best "tweeners" in the league. Merrimen too and all are first round picks.

beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.

beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
