Sounds like we got a good deal with smith ...
I'm more excited about this FA pickup

and sounds like Burnett really wasnt interested in the pack (being in greenbay).

Now to just get Carter 😉

Man i was at bowling last night and the guys were having so much fun at my expense. They are all Steeler fans and they were laughing at our one FA signing with all our cap space. They said thanks Ted Thompson for taking there trash. I was actually starting to get mad at them but i couldn't let it show.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Your Steeler fan friends should know that their team really adheres to the same philosophy our team does.

The moral of the story is this that the Steelers do not made a move to get a guy like Albert Haynesworth or DeAngelo Hall because they do not match the overall Steelers team concept and philosophy.

Oh Wils they know they don't spend money on anyone but there is one difference and that is they are winning every year. It sucked having to put up with them winning another super bowl.

Well to be he sounds cheap enough and they have it where if he plays enough (obviously if hes playing that much either someone got hurt or they like his play style (will motivate him to try hard).

That they will have a good player for cheap that knows what a 3-4 D is like in the back-field.

Now to secure our front 7 and our Oline and then we gtg.

I personally like the cap room space we have - we obviously want to keep some of our good players next year. Tons coming up ... kampman, jennings, collins etc ...

Ye, if you look at the Steelers' 2008 SB roster, it's nearly made up of only their own draft picks, undrafted FAs or released player who blossomed into great players with the Steelers (Farrior comes to mind, although his last season with the Jets was pretty great). Like Anthony Smith, really.

Wils did you also notice the players became decent in Pittsburgh and not before or really after. I still dont understand how they do it, they change head coaches and actually do better. But then again their mainstay is the defense every year. I hope Capers can bring that to the Packers. I guess it proves the old saying Defense wins championships.

They have a definite plan that works. They keep their dominating defense almost every year, have a franchise QB in Roethlisberger, and a very solid run game.

I hope Capers brings that too. I just hope the transition doesn't take that long.

They are defense, defense, defense. They always have good defensive minded coaches and a plan. They are by no means an offensive juggernaut. they are good and can make plays and it's really securing knowing the defense they have backing them up.

Roth was thrown into a great situation when he came up into Pittsburgh. Pretty decent offense, but amazing D. Gives him the chance to win games 17-13, 13-10 ect. He's aloud to make multiple mistakes, but just not throw the game away by throwing 3-4 picks.
