Your mock may have been shot out of the water with Detroit getting Peterson. Looks like Detroit is back to Smith or Stafford.

As for the trade. If Thompson can pull of a trade of this fashion, I would not be upset at all. 3 first day picks that have a chance of coming in and starting would fill one dream.

I don't think this trade sways them one bit in their draft selection. Peterson is 30 and if what I read and heard about him, he's already declining in production. The Lions need solid football players for the future, not declining athletes.

I def agree with you though, the Lions need good players at just about every position, so they should draft who they think is best at the spot their in, not even worrying about position (unless its Wide receiver of course 😛 ).

Not really how salary works. Lions have to pay Peterson's salary. 6.5 million. Seattle has to eat the remainder of the prorated SB from the contract. About 9.2 million. But that is really just a number against the cap, not any money going out the door.
