...They say that because he's a white pass rusher. Very few white pass rushers who are superstars.

Ding ding ding ding! I am sick of seeing the "lunch pail" moniker being thrown towards white players. At the same time, black players are lauded for their athletic prowess but rarely for the cerebral components of the sports they play.

Kampman = excellent athlete. It's an added bonus that he gives it his all.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I'm not gonna say it's because he's white.... I think it's more because he's a power DE and not a speed guy and he doesn't look for the spot light.

KGB for a heck of a lot more hype, and that's because he was explosive and explosion and speed is more flashy and looks better than a power guy like Kampman, Michael Strahan or any power guy for that matter.....

I mean the only power DE that get much notice are the ones that break records (Reggie White and Strahan)

Thats what I was gonna get at, but you guys answered it for me. People always think white DE's are just "high-motor" players, not true athletes

He's old... Get rid of him.

No just kidding! Kampman is the kind of guy that every team would like to have the entire team made of. An overachieving player who is all go from the beginning to end.

Whoever his coaches were as he was being shaped in football deserves a LOT of credit.

I never undertood why people call him an overachiever... If you got talent, you got talent.

"Overachiever" is a way to take the blame for the wrong evaluation off of the evaluator. Obviously the player has some kind of talent the evaluator missed as evidenced by the player's results.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?
