CLEARWATER, FL -- The Coast Guard is searching for a missing fishing boat about 50 miles off-shore in the Gulf of Mexico.

According to Coast Guard officials, the 21-foot fishing boat left from a boat ramp in Clearwater Pass Saturday about 6:30 am with 4 people on board.

That's some pretty scary stuff. I hope they find them back anytime soon, scary things can happen.

Found this on another site, since it didn't state any names there.

According to one official, Marquis Cooper, Nick Skyler, Corey Smith and a possible fourth person did not return from their fishing trip as expected.

How can they not have an emergency transponder on board?

If they did, something happened fast and freaky. It is obvious the coast guard is not getting any signal?

I have fished in the Gulf, it can get rough but most of the time one would know when the weather is coming and not leave port or get back to port.

my thoughts exactly rp. but a 20-footer, 50 miles out?? seems kinda risky to be THAT far out in that small a boat.

Reports breaking saying that they found the boat with one survivor clinging to the boat... good and bad news at the same time.

Good that they found one alive.. bad that the rest are adrift at sea.

Prayers go out to them in the rough waters.

The St. Petersburg Times reported that the boat found was, in fact, the one carrying Smith, Cooper, Bleakley and Schuyler.

According to Ray Sanchez, a cousin of Cooper who is at the Clearwater boat ramp where the men were last seen and has been getting updates from family, Schuyler is the boater who has been found. He was found west of Tampa Bay alive and clinging to a boat, Sanchez said, according to the Times.
