Sage is capable of carrying a team here and there for a game, Ferotte nor Jackson couldn't.
Lets not kid ourselves here, they will still be a run first club, but Sage gives them the ability to make the defense at least respect the pass and he has just enough mobility to force them to respect the pass rush lanes.
He isn't in the same class as Rodgers for instance.. but this is a respectable move.
For a 4th, to get a potential starting QB.. I think it speaks value. This is a team that is geared to win now.. Pat Williams, Birk, Hutch are all in that peak window or it is beginning to close... they needed to solve the QB issue.. this is a legitimate step towards that front.

I really wish I could share your positivity for Sage, my friend. But I can't. Not until I see him play a few games, anyway.
If you ask me, he's a younger Frerotte. Which may not be a bad thing.. but at the same time, isn't a good thing.
I hate that people keep saying that the Vikings just need a serviceable QB. I disagree. They need a QB that can take the game over when needed. Because, lets face it, as much as Adrian wants and is able to take a game over, he's also the ONLY player that can/will/has done it, thus allowing defenses to key on him and only him. The Vikings need a QB that can move around a bit, is ACCURATE, and can hit the fade routes without having the WR slow down to get the rock.
Is that Sage? I have no idea, but from the sounds of it, it isn't.
Anyway, just my two cents.
Thanks to TheViking88 for the sig!!
