On our "old" forum I thought one of our local Bear fans was on another forum talking about how their q/b was going to be great..

I came back to our "old "forum calling him out and blasting him..When he pointed out I was wrong and made a fool out of my self I apologized and explained I made a mistake..One of his fellow Bear fans even said he never seen a Packer fan "man up" to that sort of mistake.

So kindly STFU eh?

Any ways here is what your wrong about as if you didnt noticed

he is still going to be getting the buy out deal

"When I retire, they lose all marketing rights," Favre said. "They cannot sell anything with my name on it. That's a big deal to them. It's just like an endorsement with Nike. We have been working on that (deal) for some time."

Favre acknowledged that the money being offered by Packers president Mark Murphy was not in exchange for him not to report to training camp. He said that has been incorrectly portrayed in some media reports.

Working on it for sometime, incorrectly portrayed sounds to me like he is admitting it wasn't a bribe or buy out

So my question is why call it a buy out when it wasnt a buy out? Or your wrong in calling it a buy out

"Then," Favre said, "they tried to buy me off to stay retired."

Make up my mind for me? We hear nothing of this deal until he wanted to come back to the team, anyone can see they were trying to buy him off to stay retired even Brett him self.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The Packers weren't trying to buy him out. Maybe entice him to stick with his original decision of being retired. But it was not a buy out. As for going with what Brett said. Brett told Al Jones it was not a bribe, it was a Marketing Deal. Then later told ESPN something different.

You can't go 100% on what Brett said because he's on both sides of the fence.

how hard is it to read this? Hopefully this makes up your mind, or you just going to refuse to acknowledge Brett himself said they were working on it for a while and it was portrayed wrongly in the press as a buy out

I just shrug my shoulders and say whatever. You posted 2 different things Favre said but your deciding what one is right to fit your opinion. I just give up trying to figure it out almost every person outside of wisconsin saw it as a buy out to stay retired, but think what you want because it really don't matter anymore.

I don't see Brett coming back real fast to back the Packers but thats just my opinion maybe after Ted Thompson is gone.

DH...

Read Zeros comments..

Brett himself said that in June or so it was not a buy out, that it was on the table for a while and they were working on it..And was incorrectly mentioned in the press that it was a bribe or buy out...

Then when the whole drama filled summer happened he CHANGED his mind, and said it was a bribe..

The whole point is what do you believe??

and admit he was wrong....

I'm from WAAAY outside of Wisconsin and I don't believe it was a buyout at all. The facts just don't support it. Especially when the same deal is still available / will be available in the near future.

Sorry DH, you're assuming again, and you know what that does! Makes an ass out of you and me (but mostly you!)

=)

Dodd your assuming that the deal is still on the table, do any of us actually know? If anyone works in the Packers front office let us know the truth please.

Like i have said i believe it was a bribe to stay retired and many others that i have talked to around here and on other nfl chats.

But does it really matter to us? No its over with and we will not see Brett promoting the Packers any time soon and yes thats my opinion so don't even think of saying i'm wrong unless you are in Brett's camp or work for the Packers front office.

Per Bob Harlan, and Mark Muprhy the deal was never removed from the table, simply put on hold until Brett retired, again. Which he has, thus the deal would presumably be back on the table.

Unless something has changed.

When he 1st mentioned it in the public he admitted it was not a buy out and even said they were working on it for a long time..Reports are it was talked aobut a week before he "retired"

But he has conflicting stories that we have shown proof of, and yet you believe the one that suits your argument

He even admitt to ESPN and King that he wanted to stick it to TED...

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM could it very well be he made up the bribe to maybe stick it in a different waY?

beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
