Ok the reason i can't stand Ted Thompson:

1) He wants all the fame of building a team
2) He refuses to bring in Big Impact players
3) Always trades down and never drafts up in the early rounds
4) He looks like an idiot
5) He don't know how to talk to the public
6) Its his way or the highway even if he knows its not working
7) Built a losing team ( 1 winning season out of 4)
8 ) Thinks quantity is better than quality

Last but the biggest thing is i'm tired of hearing of this so called plan and planning for the future. When the hell will the future be the present?

There thats just a small list from me

Plus a little of what RP said

1) Sorry he resigned a bunch of core players from the Sherman days like Clifton, Tauscher, Kampman, Barnett, Harris, Driver. I'm not even close to convinced of this.

2) I don't know...I think Charles Woodson is an impact player. I also think Ryan Pickett helped our team the last 2 years as a starting DT. He did really well in '07. Ryan Grant was an impact player in '07 for us and he got him for a 6th. Donald Lee and Atari Bigby too were both intricate pieces of our team in '07. Please...I want you to list the "impact" players he should have brought in.

3) Are you serious? Trading up should be rare. Seriously. In today's NFL, trading down should be much more prevalent. The draft is a crapshoot and usually the more picks you have, the better chance of you landing a starter.

4) Awesome reasoning. I know you are just joking and trying to get a rise out of us.

5) Great. I don't care how he talks. Do you want to be judged by the way you type?

6) What kind of point is this? If it's his way and it's wrong...he'll get fired. Simple as that. Why would he want to keep doing something wrong if it would get him fired? It's stupid. Spare me the "ego" talk.

7) Point taken. Some people see the improvement from 4-12 to 8-8 to 13-3 as a positive direction. I hated last season and Ted Thompson should part some of the blame. I still see him as the guy who almost built our team into a Super Bowl contending team.

8 ) I think it's a matter of opinion. Of course he hasn't done that well in the 1st round, but Ron Wolf wasn't very good there either. I think he's done a fine job of giving this team talent through the draft.

Good points Wils......."TT looks like an idiot" to some........i guess he doesn't "smile" enough.
Thats a heck of a reason to hate someone.
Wils, you did a good job of counter pointing.

I myself think this coming year will prove who is right or wrong. If we tank, i'll say the Ted Thompson haters were right (barring something crazy, like AR getting knocked out for the season in the first 2 weeks).
But if we are healthy, and stink this year, then it's time for a change.

What kind of change? I understand and believe in the system that is in place up to this point. Nobody in the league thinks we're a "poor" team or "failing". I don't want a free-for-all spending spree in Free Agency. I don't think we could draft all that much better (compared to other teams, not the ideal). I like McCarthy more than any H.C. in GB since Holmgren circa 1997. Our cap situation is good. Our roster has improved greatly in my opinion.

If you let the parity of the league and circumstance force you into going for some arbitrary "change" without any direction for improvement, you deserve the plunge you are going to take. If by some bizarre set of events we get rid of Ted Thompson in the next year or two, I guarantee the Packers go downhill.

You would be ok with 1 winning season in 5 years?. That would be a success? And you are exaggerating when you say our roster has improved "greatly" We have got younger, but I'm not so sure about improved "greatly". Has our offensive/defensive lines improved since Thompson took over? No.

Pretty hard to prove.... Nonstop.

I will just settle for some evidence of his self-centeredness.

The challenge is I can not find any thing that even suggests he is self centered, and or seeking any credit at all. He is all about "We's" and I never hear an "I" from the man.

The teams with the most postseason success over the past decade also happen to have the most stable coaching and management staffs. I think we should emulate their example of patience unless we uncover blatant example of gross malfeasance and ineptitude on the part of our team administration, which I do not believe can be produced at this time.

Even the Steelers haven't had winning seasons every year.

We also need to emulate their record. Being stable is great, if you are winning.

I am floored that many here would be ok with 1 winning season in 5 years. That is shocking.

You know...I would really like to know how many times Ron Wolf traded down and compare him to TT. However, I cannot find any info on the web on past draft day trades. Does anyone know where to find that type of info?

To me it's not a question of being "ok" with it, as it is being realistic on WHY last season (which was really the only bad one record wise since Ted Thompson took over) went so bad. It wasn't TT's fault the D couldn't do their jobs. They had major breakdowns.
One season the ball bounces your way, the next, it doesn't.
Now....if next year they haven't fixed what was wrong, THEN i'd hold their feet to the fire.
But really, ONE bad year, with Favre's "I retire, i don't, now i do" stuff, which i don't care what anyone says........it HAD to affect the team. Then AR having the HORRIBLE job of having to take over for a "legend", and in my view, doing a hell of a good job. If you take everything that happened into account, i'm not as mad at last season as some. There were alot of things going on that played into it. You can't throw all that on TT.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”

dfosterf (14-Jun) : TWO magnificent strikes for touchdowns. Lose the pennstate semigeezer non nfl backup
dfosterf (14-Jun) : There was minicamp Thursday. My man Taylor Engersma threw
dfosterf (11-Jun) : There will be a mini camp practice Thursday.
