Fook dem kids!!!! Bahahaha, that was funny.

Okay, so NFLPA did a survey and players said no gameday childcare is an issue. Are they upset it's not available, or upset that it is not available AND financed for them? I'm thinking if Packers offered child care the players would pay for it.

What thinks you?

I don't care if the Packers have to pay to raise the little spoiled brat crumb snatchin' , gutter-snipe yardfrogs if it makes the players' naggin' wives have one less thing to bitch about to their husbands. I saw Jerry Maguire catching hell in the movie. 🤪

As long as it does not count against the cap. 😁

It is helpful to understand that virtually all of these players are under the influence of a prima donna syndrome, many since early high school. The sense of entitlement is instilled by the adoration and our "interesting" societal value system.

All that being said, some in jest, some in resignation, I think the Packers should provide game day childcare, just like 29 other NFL teams do

It's not my money. It's not my kids. It's not a hill I want to die on. Still if I am going to have a vote, I say no. I had to find child support. It was so expensive my wife stayed home for much of the time to raise our kids. My son's nanny ends up with more than he does.
The players on the bottom rung of the ladder, if they make the team will earn $840,000 for the season. They can afford to fly granny in for the weekend to watch the kids.
As a compromise the Packers can lease one of the Titletown offices spaces at a reduced rate to a company that can watch the kiddos.

Childcare is getting surprisingly expensive...

But I think the huge issue (from the Packers perspective) is the legal liabilities that comes with childcare.

Such what if the person you hire is horrible with the kids? Or does something illegal... I certainly wouldn't want the legal liability of childcare, even if it was a profitable business.

If I was the Packers, I might assist the players setting something up, or finding something, or getting someone else getting a business going, but there is 0% I'd be a middleman and risk the legal liability of it.

The closest I might be willing to get, would be, with all these new spaces the Packers are adding, maybe (ONLY MAYBE) building one that's super duper safe and renting it out to another business, that just so happens to do childcare, and they're taking the legal responsibility.

As far as how big of a problem this is, I'd say that it totally depends on the availability and costs of privately available childcare in the area (which I have no idea of).

But I assume the Packers would help, as long as they don't have to take on the legal liabilities or the actual running of a childcare business.

i'm sure they could provide the space and subcontract the actual day care effort out to a reputable firm especially for game day which appears to be the primary concern.
Go Packers!!!!

To be fair, most childcare centers are closed on Sundays so special arrangements have to be made.
The thing that is puzzling to me is, most people with a substantial income, compared to the average working stiff, prefer in-home daycare. One sitter. One or two children instead of 20 or 30 kids and a couple of caregivers. I rather suspect if the Packers offered to pay for the in-home day care, players would rather have that option instead of herding the kids into one location with a few people to watch them.

they could probably get a firm to do it for nothing... simply allow them to say...
"official day-care provider to the Green Bay Packers"
Go Packers!!!!

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
