I have a complaint. The picture of you draft selections are too small. But I do like the LSU tackle

I would be pretty happy with this. Would need a CB in FA though PFN_Draft_result_1740801286766.png You have insufficient rights to see the content.

It seems that this Mykel Williams is often times the best available player at 23.

That Shemar guy seems to have been slotted to Packers at 23 quite a bit.

Suggest folks take a hard look at Jahdae Barron. He has fallen to 23 a couple of times in the mocks I have run. Cornerback from Texas. Won the Jim Thorpe award for best defensive back in college football. He ran faster at the combine than projected with a 4.39 40, so the probability of him being there at 23 is somewhat reduced. 5'11 194. 8.99 RAS. NFL com kind of meh on him. PFF likes him alot, but my favorite analysis is NFL draft buzz. I have put in some homework on this one, and am pretty confident in saying the Packers would be thrilled to get this pick in the 1st round.

I PLEAD THE FIFTH, your honor!

Round, that is...

If Dont'e Thornton is still there by our 5th round selection, we should take him. As of this writing, he is 275th on the consensus mock draft board, and UDFA.

I doubt he makes it to our 5th round selection.

For those unfamiliar with who this guy is, he was the top wide receiver for the Tennessee Vols. He replaced Jalin Hyatt when he was drafted by the Giants in the 3rd round in 2023. Many analysts like to compare the two, and that is to the detriment of Thornton. Hyatt had a sophmore slump this year-

More to follow, my cell hates long posts here, gets squirrely

Part two-
Thornton was a low production receiver, and that is the book on him.
The Vols run what's called a Deep Choice Concept, and more specifically, something named veer shift. Can be Googled- Long story short, they don"t throw the ball to Dont'e Thornton all that much...

But man, when they do...

QBR when targeted 140.56
8.94 yards after catch
12.97 air yards per reception
21. 9 yards per catch career

Measures 6'5" 206 lbs

4.30 forty

1.51 split

9.80 RAS

Go watch his tape.
He takes the top off,
and he can catch!

In my opinion, he is the most enigmatic prospect in the draft, especially for Packer fans.

BTW- In a presser he was asked if anyone ever clocked his speed. He said that one of the coaches at Oregon (transfer) got him at 24.3 miles per hour going for a block. That's fast.

Al Davis would have taken him in the first round if he was still with us, I have no doubt, which allowed me to semi- legitimately place a projected undrafted free agent in a first round pick guess thread.

we don't need an MVS kind of guy.

I think it's unsound logic to take one guy and expect he is going to stretch the defense.
Go Packers!!!!

That was the best in college football, and my version of sound logic is that you like having that. He also catches the ball when thrown to him. As far as MVS comparisons, many have made that, but you can also compare him to Christian Watson or a receiver named DK Metcalf, which is, of course, a little unfair, him being projected from a 3rd round pick as a dart throw all the way to UDFA, while simultaneously faster than any of them. You are supposed to like that, last I heard. We DEFINITELY need an "MVS type" It is WHY so many are salivating over giving up the store for friggin' Metcalf in the first place. Perhaps we logically want short and slow, lol, but you do you, lol. Remember, my advocacy is for taking him in the 5th round of the draft.

For Cripes sake.

Logically I would have used a bad word here, but...

I remain.
