I fully realize you're exaggerating for effect, but you did make me curious, so I looked up the numbers. Roethlisberger was 303 of 506 (59.9%) for an average of 31.6 attempts/game and 3,301 yards (7.1 ypc - 17th).

Holy crap! He threw that many passes this year?
Well, I just remember the SB year where he threw a whopping 268 passes while handing off to Parker and Bettis constantly. I try not to follow the Steelers, so had no idea he actually throws the ball now.
As for riding a team to a SB win, Big Ben is the perfect example. he was drop dead HORRIBLE in the SB. Check out these stats:
9 21 123 0 2
Yes, that's nine completions, ZERO TDs, and two INTs. Meanwhile on the other side, Hasselbeck is working his tail off and gets a big fat L.
