So the new defensive coordinator VJ, Vernon Joseph had to step in to get them to play more aggressive and tackle!!

Note he did not say 'Christian Parker improved our defensive backs by getting them to play the ball and be less passive. This write up could be interpreted that Parker was part of the problem.

Because while it was the coordinators changes, it's still the DB coaches job to coach the DBs and the coordinator is calling him the star. So maybe it was the Coordinator idea, but he taught the new coaches the old scheme, and the old players, the new changes.

Basically taking a conservative Fangio scheme and turning into an aggressive Vic Fangio scheme, which might be exactly what LaFleur is looking for.

Nevertheless, better tackling and more aggressiveness when the ball is in the air should not be predicated on a DC.

How about if we get a star instead of a rising star.

MC added the numbers for counterpoint clarity

1. I think I missed it, who is on your list of "star" DC candidates the Packers can/should get?

2. If better tackling / play ball in air aggressively shouldn't be predicated on the DC, who should it be predicated on?

1. Wink Martindale, Vic Fangio (missed it, PA bound for family reasons) Bill Belichick, Jim Leonhard (oops sorry, I was not supposed to mention his name)
2. Position coaches. The DC should only have to step in when the position coaches are not getting the job. done.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I was updating my FTP Scripts to increase security.

Go Packers!!!!
