After seeing the 2023 combine and watching highlights, I thought these guys would be good in the NFL in this order.
1. CJ Stroud
2. Anthony Richardson
3. Will Levis
4. Bryce Young
I liked the arm of Richardson and Levis the most of the four. Levis arm probably has the most "pop" on his throws, but he's super inaccurate. Stroud seemed to have this weird sense in the pocket of knowing when to step up, to the side, etc ... pretty great to see. Young just wasn't impressive to me on anything other than accuracy.
Going into the 2024 draft there seems to be two top dogs. Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. No question, Caleb is the better college QB, but if you are one of the worst franchises and picking top ten. I'm taking Drake Maye.
Caleb gets spooked super easy and just runs with it. Drake will step up in the pocket and keep his eyes down field. Based on what I've seen and what I look for ... I'm confident that Drake Maye skills will transition into the NFL more effectively than Caleb Williams. I am not saying Caleb is trash, not saying he's Ryan Leaf. I just think Maye will give a franchise 10 prime years whereas Caleb will streaky up and down for half decade.
Fun Fact: I thought QB Colt McCoy would have the best NFL career of the 2010 NFL Draft QB's ... kinda missed on that one haha
