Trade Nijman at the trade deadline. Right now teams are waiting to get guys free on cut-down day.

Wow...who has been drinking their asshole juice this morning.

I recognize one can do all the things that you claim...but it would make no fucking sense and everyone in the world sees that...but apparently you.

YOU are posting YOUR opinion of the situation the same as I am...and acting like a complete douche in the process.

We are undergoing a youth movement with a need to correct our salary cap an not push any can down the road.

Whatever Gute does will be what happens, but like not moving Aaron earlier I PERSONALLY feel it'll be a day late and dollar short. Everyone plays GM for their team. We'll see when the season is over what shakes out.

I have learned ever since Josh Sitton was released at last cut not to be surprised at anything.

Up until a couple of years ago, I would start right after the draft and work on my final 53, it should be a fun little project, but I found myself getting way to invested in "why" and "what the hell" when moves were made that I didn't agree with.
Much more relaxing to just put out a 53 man roster after the draft and see how it looks after final cuts.

No matter what anyone thinks, Gute is the guy who will put together THE TEAM, pass it on to Matt and he and his coaches deal with the cards that are given them.

I look around the league and see a lot of teams already cutting players.

The fact that Gute has said he is going to wait till Tuesday to do final cuts, tells me he has some tough decisions to make.
That's not a bad thing.

Just because Nijman didn't win the starting RT job doesn't mean he got worse, could mean that Thom and Walker made that 2nd year jump and got that much better.

Again, not a bad thing.

I no longer worry about The Salary Cap, in today's NFL, there are 100 ways to manipulate it.
The Packers have one of the best in Ball to do just that.
The Packers have a first year starter at qb, THE #1 PRIORITY is to keep him protected.
I have confidence that Gute will make the right decisions.
Everybody has their own opinions, we are not going to agree all the time.
No sense in attacking each other.
Kumbaya everyone!

But if they can get a 4th or better for him, why not? Waiting until the trade deadline makes sense too - injuries on the oline always seem to happen so they could wait and see how the season shakes out.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if he's cut outright. They can carry his ~$4m contract, but if he's fallen to #4 or #5 at T, that's a pretty high cost to pay for a guy who probably isn't playing much, if at all, this season. I think it really depends on their confidence in Bahktari's knee - if they don't have faith in David remaining healthy, Nijman could quickly be the #3 again.

Could Nijman be released due to Cap Reasons?

This isn't my idea, but just saw something online suggesting it's possible.

IF OT Walker has indeed passed OT Nijman on the depth chart to become the #3 OT, like some have suggested... would the Packers still be willing to pay Nijman's $4.3 million for a #4 OT?

I think it's an interesting question. Someone else would cost about a million to fill the spot, so it'd save $3.3 million. But a team might be willing to do it to save that, especially if that can trade him and get something in value back. But they might do it just to save the money if they don't think Nijman is headed in the right direction.

If everyone knows you are releasing someone, then they aren't worth shit, and you wouldn't be looking forward to what you could get for him.

Granted, if the player is being released, you're not really pining hard for the guy. Hence the conditional 7th picks being tossed around.

"Leaking" a player is going to be released is actually a strategy some teams use in hopes someone will toss in a draft pick, even if it's a 7th rounder.

But since you brought it back up, and back to the context of Bakhtiari, which was the context of what you quoted, are you suggesting he's looking forward for the Packers to trade Bakhtiari for a 7th round pick in 2023? Because supposedly (his claim) that everyone knows we're going to release Bakhtiari in the 2024 off-season.

PS: I agree with what you said, just not to he context of the Bakhtiari situation. I extremely believe if they knew they would be releasing Bakhtiari before the 2024 season, they would of drafted an OT very high in in 2023 draft to get one year under development before losing Bakhtiari.

Extrapolate is taking something to an unknown context, but in this situation, the context of Bakhtiari was clearly there in the message you only partly quoted.

I really have no idea what is going on here. Regarding the individual this subject is titled about, I wouldn't be surprised if Yosh Nijman is cut, nor would I be surprised if he's traded for a day three pick. Although, I would probably be more surprised about the trade than being cut. I think it was the 2020 playoffs that they tinkered with the OL and the person shuffled out was Yosh. So, I think that kind of tells us a little bit about their confidence in him. At least, a few years ago. Confidence can grow over time.

Zero2Cool (11h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (12h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
