Matt LaFleur talked to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky about coaching in Green Bay

On ESPN Wisconsin’s Wilde & Tausch radio show, ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky stated that Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has attempted to recruit Orlovsky to the coaching world.

I’ve had conversations with Matt about it, of going out there. There’s been conversations this offseason. It’ll always be something that I’ve been interested in. Right now, I love being at ESPN. I love being able to get to do what I do and I’m super thankful for that.

Rodgers always seemed to talk about preferring QB coaches that have actually played QB at a high level.

Though it wasn't in this article, but in another article, I read that Orlovsky also talked about loving what he's currently doing with ESPN.

Also, (assuming they don't fire him) the ESPN job probably pays better, for easier work and gets more recognition for it and overall better, unless you prefer the private life.

First Joe Barry was hired as DC. Then MLF brought in Aubrey Pleasant as a consultant after he was canned by the Lions last year. Now he's talking to Dan Orlovsky who's best known for his time as the Lions QB who ran out the back of the end zone for a safety. We seem to be interested in a lot of ex-Lion guys.

(and yes I'm aware that MLF knows all 3 from his time in LA).

I'll defend the Aubrey Pleasant signing as he was released and Packers (in theory) got him for cheap, because most of his money is coming from the guaranteed Lions contract (I'm assuming, as my understanding is most coaching contracts are guaranteed contracts) and anything he made with the Packers was most likely off-set and not additional, and usually you charge you old team, now the current team.

And as a recent former division rival DB coach, he was hired to help the offense. I assume to help figure out what are other teams picking up and how to disguise or improve things better.
