ACL is a long slow process. Not surprised if he loses the whole year.

When Green Bay Packers‘ starting left tackle David Bakhtiari tore his ACL in practice last December, it was a crushing blow for the team’s Super Bowl hopes. Green Bay was able to advance to the NFC Championship game, but fell, in part, due to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ vicious pass rush on Aaron Rodgers.

Bakhtiari recovered all offseason and was seen doing some individual work toward the end of training camp. This sparked many fans to believe he was going to be ready to return this season. It wasn’t a huge surprise (maybe a little disappointment) when he was placed on the PUP list to begin the season, ruling him out for at least the first six weeks.

He began practicing on an individual basis sometime after his Week 6 return, but suffered a setback at some point. That led to a cleanup surgery and more time out.

The Green Bay Packers have been hoping to get David Bakhtiari back on the field sometime this season, but the signs aren’t looking good.
Bakhtiari returned again to the practice field two weeks ago when he practiced on an individual basis once more. However, he’s now sitting out this week for what Matt LaFleur called “unloading.”

None of this points toward Bakhtiari returning this season. If he can’t even practice individually for two weeks in a row, it’s hard to imagine he’ll be ready to compete in an NFL game anytime soon. Green Bay is entering their Week 16 contest against the Cleveland Browns and he’s already been ruled out for this contest. There are only two more weeks remaining until the playoffs begin and it’s difficult to imagine Bakhtiari being ready for game-action in that short time frame.

Even if we look to the playoffs, Bakhtiari will have to take some major steps in the next couple of weeks. Let’s say the Packers have a first-round bye, giving Bakhtiari an extra week to prepare. Would Green Bay throw him in the fire for his first game action in over a year when the stakes are the highest?

When healthy, he’s the best left tackle in the game. Unfortunately, Green Bay can’t afford a trial by fire in the playoffs. All things considered: Bakhtiari is running out of time to return this season.

What a complete buzzkill if Bakh can't make it back this season after potentially being the difference between winning a Super Bowl and losing in the NFC title game last year.

Pretty crazy to think I believed he'd be back for Chiefs game on a snap count and worked up to full game in two or three games. And here we are with two games left in the season and nodda.

Jaire Alexander and David Bakhtiari gone for nearly the entire season and still have won 12 games seems insane to me.

He went the distance last week. Not a very long distance, mind you, but still . . . a distance.

Mucky Tundra (now) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (1m) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (11m) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (15m) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (24m) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (31m) : Philly DL has come to play
TheKanataThrilla (33m) : Ceoper DeJean with the INT scored...bad memories of draft night
Mucky Tundra (37m) : ok scratch that
Mucky Tundra (43m) : Game feels like last years Super Bowl: 49ers started off in control, moved the ball well but didn't have much of a lead to show for it
TheKanataThrilla (43m) : KC jumped and they call it on Eagles. WTF refs
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : If he was offside why did you let him pop the QB?
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : I like that Eagles are controlling time of possession so far.
Mucky Tundra (1h) : If the Eagles are going to win, this is how they do it: jump all over the Chiefs and don't let it turn into a close one
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : Bad throw created that penalty.
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : Amazed Philly got that hit to the helmet call.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : refs just called an OPI,,,bullshit
dhazer (2h) : final score Chefs 24 Eagles 21 Refs 3
Mucky Tundra (4h) : feels like it hurts everyone but starters
Mucky Tundra (4h) : *cut down on snaps that
Mucky Tundra (4h) : beast, no not at all. Just seems counterproductive to cut down on snaps to help back ups get playing time and get potential money after cuts
Zero2Cool (5h) : So, Jets tell Rodgers they're moving on? QB2 for Packers haha
Zero2Cool (5h) : Hey, I'm not saying it's the great idea. I'm saying, it's what I think will happen.
beast (5h) : You think they give a crap enough about bubble guys to make rules for them?
Mucky Tundra (6h) : So games that will be even *more* sloppy the first two or three weeks of the season?
Zero2Cool (9h) : I think you can figure most starters won't be playing either of the two games at all.
Mucky Tundra (22h) : is 2 preseason games enough for bubble guys to make a mark?
packerfanoutwest (8-Feb) : true.forgot about that
Zero2Cool (8-Feb) : Unless they reduce preseason from three to two games.
packerfanoutwest (8-Feb) : If Goodell allows an 18 game season, there will be a SB on Valentines Day
Zero2Cool (8-Feb) : Perfect football player. - Ron Wolf on Sharpe
Zero2Cool (8-Feb) : Sharpe didn't celebrate TD's ... crazy I didn't realize it back then
Martha Careful (7-Feb) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe
Mucky Tundra (7-Feb) : beast, you didn't miss much with that one. Raiders didn't update their play calls, audibles etc so the Bucs D steamrolled
buckeyepackfan (6-Feb) : That was quick, one thing Jordan said was he doesn't agree with Josh Jacobs, that the Packers need to go get a proven #1 wr
buckeyepackfan (6-Feb) : J-10VE on ESPN NOW!
beast (6-Feb) : I was young and didn't get enough sleep... fell asleep during the Buccaneers/Raiders Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : Patriots / Panthers feeling is what I got. didn't watch that one either
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : Easier to get a camera on her in the suite where she can't impact the game by being distraction???
TheKanataThrilla (5-Feb) : This is the least excited I have been in a long time for a Super Bowl. Unfortunately they both can't lose.
wpr (5-Feb) : So why don;'t they have her on the sidelines and doing the halftime fandango instead of sitting on her but in a $1,000,000 suite?
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : Think more eyes on Super Bowl with Swift fans pulling for her TE boyfriend?
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : She dating the TE of the Chiefs.
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : Taylor Swift has millions of fans, yeah?
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : They did. They are going to show the post production Sunday with plethora of ads.
wpr (5-Feb) : I thought KC already won
Zero2Cool (4-Feb) : If you wanna post about the Super Bowl, please, by all means, open a topic. They are free this month! 😁
Zero2Cool (4-Feb) : There doesn't need to be a topic. There's a playoff prediction thread.
packerfanoutwest (4-Feb) : and there no SB contest over in the other Packer forum, either
buckeyepackfan (4-Feb) : #2Officially Retires!
beast (4-Feb) : Probably no SB topic as people are wore out talking about the Chiefs, Refs and Eagles
