Wow. I think we all expected this to happen, but most felt after the season ended. Does anyone think Hackett joins Packers as consultant?
Edit -- do you think there is any truth that Broncos GM felt they were going to be able to bring Aaron Rodgers over along with Hackett? When that didn't happen, they overpaid for Russell Wilson. And since no Rodgers and no success, Broncos are like well we gotta make a change ... HC is least financially destroying...

I believe the Broncos GM is from the Vikings and got a first hand look at the success the Packers had... and that's what he wanted, and schemes and such.
Note the Broncos and Vikings both took the same offensive and defensive system that the Packers were using.
Also, I'm not sure the Broncos GM got to choose the head coach, as they were hired at the same time.
But yes, Hackett had Rodgers phone number and could talk to him, and see if he was retiring, returning to the Packers or wanted out.
