Trade him for high draft capital as long as you could get 12 to commit for 2-3 more seasons. I don’t think he would commit like that though.

That's what I think is best. However, why sign such a cap strapping contract vs a ten year one with same guaranteed money to allow team cap flexibility and so you don't have to play the will return or will I retire game every year? Something else to mention is many athletes have said once you talk about retirement, you're essentially retired.
I think Rodgers is done. He seems to be sticking around for the comradery more than passion to win. He's talked so much about how much the people mean to him and that's cool. But normally we hear how they need another super bowl run. Rodgers doesn't talk like that anymore.
