Maybe Packers coach Mike McCarthy just wanted to wait to have a press conference until he had something to say. The Packers should find out more about the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers today, as he's having another round of scans to determine how much his broken left collarbone has healed, according to Ed Werder...

I ask what do we have to gain if Rodgers plays? I actually think it hurts us alot having him play. The reason behind that is we would maybe win 2 of the 4 games which makes our draft pick back into the late teens and if he doesn't play we could end up with a top 10 pick. Also if he plays he will cover up some of the holes again and Ted Thompson and MM wouldn't worry about fixing things like every other year.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

So the biggest day of the season is on a Tuesday.

If he's back, no reason to think we don't win out the regular season and have at least a puncher's chance in the playoffs. If the negativists are right and they shut him down, the Packers are just playing to see how high a draft pick they get.

As for those holes, Thompson (and whatever I may want, I assume he is still GM) hopefully has had a wake up call, and he does a better job.

That is why the press conference is being scheduled so late today and was cancelled yesterday. Makes sense. See yall at 3:15 central!

This season is over ( and I pretty much admit that even though I still hold a glimmer of hope) and to you losses now mean a higher draft pick and that means a better chance to improve the team. I'm not going to say it makes you less of a fan because who am I to say how a fan should root for his team. That is why I have always hated comments that start with "a real fan..." or "a true fan..." I know its cliche to say the draft is a crap shoot and I do agree that in general the higher the pick the better the odds at finding a better player but I'll say it, the draft is a crap shoot. Since the entire draft is a what if proposition I'll say that what if he Packers draft #10 and the guy they take flops and the guy that they might have taken at #18 (or 21) turns out to be a perennial all pro. Is it such a good thing that they lost the extra two games this year?

I want he Packers to win every single game they play. I know that won't happen so I want them to win as many games as they possibly can. If winning 2 more games this season means 10 position swing in draft position I will be glad for the 2 extra wins

If an organization is run well then it doesn't matter where they pick. Jacksonville has been in the top 10 for years and years. They still suck. New England has had bottom picks for years, they are still good.

I am a huge fan I live by Pittsburgh and I fly my Packer colors proudly and hell I even painted my master bedroom and bathroom in Packers green and gold. But I am also a realist when I say we don't stand a chance in obamacare (hell) to win the SuperBowl. So why not use it to evaluate some players and get them real game experience instead of the preseason stuff.

If you would have said from the start lets give our younger guys a chance to get some game experience and show what they can do rather than saying losings gives us a better draft pick it would have saved me a whole lot of typing (and you a whole lot of reading.)[grin1] [grin1]

Personally, If Rodgers is healthy I think he should play. If he is not or if the risk of re-injury is too high then he should sit. If he sits two more weeks and we lose to the Falcons and the cowboys and then he is deemed fit I think he should start the last two weeks.
