Sometimes the best trades are the ones that don't get made!

And the Bears ended up executing some of them, namely Edge Khalil Mack, WR Claypool. But there have been a number of trades like that, where we fans so all in, only for Gute to attempt to get the deal, just miss and Packers are in a better position for missing out on the trade.
The only potential big move that I feel like Gute should regret is not signing FA WR Odell Beckham Jr. (OBJ) whom reportedly wanted to sign with Green Bay until not getting the interest from the team that he expected. Packers went on to lose to the 49ers by 3 points.
OBJ ended up signing with the Rams, whom would face the 49ers in the NFC Championship game, and they beat the 49ers by 3 points, on their way to a Superbowl Victory. Which in the last 9 meetings of Rams vs 49ers, that is the only Rams victory, the other 8 went to the 49ers.
Though, that's wasn't a trade, so basically Gute has been lucky to miss out on a lot of big trades that would of been bad for him, I can't think of a single one that supposedly got traction that would of looked good in 20/20 hindsight.
Though, based on his luck in the 3rd round, and success in the 4th round, I sometimes wish he was trading his 3rd round picks to move up, instead of his 4th rounders, as he strangely has had a lot more success in the 4th than the 3rd.
