Carpenter (6-3, 230) was announced as a linebacker but Gutekunst typically was noncommittal regarding what his position would be. He started at safety for four seasons but several teams graded him as a linebacker.

I figure he'll automatically be STs and working at the Dime LB spot which is a LB/DB tweener role and I think our 1st rounder LB Walker will be there too. I think the Packers strategy was goes more towards a coverage LB and away from a physical 3rd Safety.
I'm surprised ILB/S JoJo Domann went undrafted, I was expecting him in this type of role, though he had less speed but I think did more of the smaller thing correctly, then again, teams draft for future potential more than where they are right now.
Also I still don't know how the board jump translates into football... just saying...
