For another reference point, Lee Evans recently received a 4yr/$37.25 million extension. I think slapping that on to the end of Greg's deal would make both sides happy. That would put Greg at $38 million over the next 5 yrs. Actually, that might be a tad low.

And one thing to keep in mind is that it's not about the total contract value. It's about the guaranteed money. Berrian only received $16 million guaranteed, while the magic number for any start player these days is $20 million.

I agree that Greg will get a contract similar to Lee Evans. Greg is saying and doing all the right things. With TT's history if you preform well you will get extended. Examples Brady, Barnett, Kampy ect.

Well, if you consider how much much much better of a receiver Jennings is than Berrian and Berrian got 6 years 42 million, 16 mil bonus @ 7 mil per season. How could Jennings not demand at least 6 years 60 million and 20+ bonus?

I love Jennings but i'd rather have Jordy in the starting lineup with DD, James Jones, Ruvell Martin & a new rookie and Albert Haynesworth. I dont really know. I love Jennings a lot. But ask yourself this. Is he a go to receiver like Andre Johnson, Terell Owens, Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison(past), Anquan Boldin, Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Steve Smith, Brandon Marshall. Even Donald Driver, i'm not so sure i'd rather have Jennings over Driver. Those guys can take over a game with their unusual ability to create separation and make big plays after the catch with their physical ability. Harrison had Peyton Manning and Steve Smith has Michael Jordan jumping ability. Other than that, all or almost everyone on that list is like 6'2 - 6'4 inches tall. Just me but i'm not giving a blank check to a 5'10 - 5'11 receiver.

I think his size definitely doesn't help him, but he's a legit enough #1 to pay him quite a lot. I don't think we need a huge #1 go to guy in this type of offense. Brett and AR have spread the ball around to 8+ receivers almost every game the past two years.

No way Jennings will get 6 for $60 million. Not possible. No way a WR gets QB money. Since he is better than Berrian, I expect him to get about 4-5 million more. That's about it.

I wouldn't be suprised to see the contract be published as 6 for 60 mil. What is more important is the guarantee and how it is worked out. They could throw 20 million in a final year RB, that would probably never get paid anyway, just to make the number look better in the media.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh is a free agent this year. Greg Jennings's agent will likely wait and see what T.J. gets and demand slightly more. My guess is over 50 million over the course of the contract. The most important number is how much guaranteed though and at least 20.

I think you're forgetting how big of a playmaker Greg Jennings is. He is still a great receiver at 5'11". So you'd get rid of him because he isn't a T.O., Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, etc.? If you "love" him so much, why would you want to get rid of him because of his name?

The kids' a playmaker...period.
