My apology is to the Detroit Lions fans. As brutal as my experience as a Packer fan this year, what with the "fiasco", etc. I always respect and appreciate those that stick with the team they root for, ESPECIALLY when the object of their "fandom" let's them down and/or they are in a minority. I like loyalty.

Everyone is entitled to do whatever within reason, and I am certainly no prude, but I just wanted to say that I did not like that chant at the end of that football game... at all.

So if a Detroit Lion fan ever reads this post, it wasn't me. I would not do that, and good luck to you...remember that crazy old coot in Dallas gave you half his draft, so you should be encouraged about that. :thumbleft:

I guess it all depends on how far you wanna take this rivalism. The banners where ok in my eyes, but I didn't like the chanting either. Seems like the fans didn't like the win and play of our team as much as they liked the Lions failing miserably.

The people who still support the Lions now, can call themselfs real fans. Same goes for fans of other long-time struggeling teams though (49ers, Raiders recently). The bandwagon always gets quite empty after a horrible season or 2/3.

I really have no issue with it. Who knows, maybe a Lions fan started the chant.

They fully earned their 0-16 and have no one else to blame. The fans probably didn't deserve to hear it but the team sure does.

I thought hearing it once was funny, but it just kept going on and on. Those players busted their asses off and they fought in many games and fought to the last second.

I think if our season would have went better, theres no chance we would have booed or whatever the Lions like that. I think the fans were more like the kid with crutches making fun of the other kid in a wheel chair.

Both teams were disappointing, but no one was predicting the Lions to make a serious run like the Packers were predicted to.

I just wanted to point out that it was the Packers that began the Lions losing streak last year, and the Packers to definitively seal it at 0-16.

Like I said in the chat...This game was like fighting a girl, if you won big effin deal you beat the worst team in the league. IF YOU LOSE, your the laughing stock of the league. TBH I wouldn't have been the least bit surprised had we lost. Its just how poorly our team has played this year.

For the fans of one losing team to taunt another losing team that has played its ass off in the face of overwhelming adversity was just disillusioning.

From the beginning of preseason till the last game of the regular season, the scales have been stripped from my eyes. I no longer believe the mindless tripe that we're the "best fans in the NFL." We're no better than anyone else, and that saddens me.

Unfortunately what you just said is true. I don't want to agree with it, but we stooped to a new low today. I'm ashamed.

Now I HOPE none of us here at PH did so, but if you were at that game and cheered on or even so much as laughed as you watched...smh at you

It is my personal opinion that taunting within the means of the game, such as predicting a final season standing by implying that the opposing team has difficulty winning against the fans' team is WELL within the bounds of sportsmanship. This is no different than saying "we're going to beat you today", even merely the phrase "Go Pack Go" commonly chanted implies (or should I say, implores) the superior performance of the Green Bay Packers over the opponent, which in this case happens to be the Lions. It just so happens that we're the last team to be beating on the Lions this season, capping off their horrendous season. It is merely fact or fiction whether the Lions end up 0-16 or not. It is not a subjective statement. Either the Lions 'earned' 0-16 or they 'earned' 1-15 on Sunday. It was the former for the hapless Lions. Let us not forget the crap we give Vikings fans for never winning a Superbowl, or how the other NFC North fans remind us of our slump of the 70s and 80s. This is in the same vein. It makes no difference how hard the Lions played all season because for whatever reason it just wasn't hard enough. They've earned their record the way we earned our disappointing 6-10.

It is when fans become personal and yell abuse at a player that it crosses the line. The stories of physical or verbal assault against other teams fans and ridiculous taunts are what should be culled. The Lions could have avoided "0-16" taunts by actually winning a game this season, but they didn't.

So, that's my defense of the "0-16" chant, anyway. Make the Lions prove that they are better than that record indicates, because 0-16 is what they are.

It really didn't bother me. It's part of the game. Tell me, you don't think that if the Lions had won, that their fans at Lambeau would have been doing tha taunting?
As long as there are no obsentities in it, i have no problem with it.
After all, isn't that what your home field is all about?
