Sorry, double post.
The NFL: Where Greg Jennings Happens.

Love might turn out to be great, terrible, or something in between. This game doesn't tell us much, other than he's not as good as Aaron Rodgers at this point in his career and didn't ball out after half a week to prepare against a team that was in the superbowl the last two years. If he starts next week and doesn't look any better, it might be time to be a little concerned - but even that is probably premature.

Love was a late 1st round pick, which is where QBs that need some seasoning go these days. With the revamped rookie contracts, teams don't wait around until the 3rd or 4th round to grab QBs they think can start anymore. So comparing where Love was drafted to where Rodgers was drafted is apples vs oranges. This is crucial point that seems forgotten whenever the topic comes up - a lot of teams passed on Rodgers because they had starting QBs and didn't want to pay huge money to a backup. Remember, this was before the Jamarcus Russel debacle.

As others have mentioned, he's more or less a rookie, having had no training camp or preseason in year one. It will probably take until year 3 to know what he's capable of, and maybe until year 4 or 5 to know what his ceiling will be - which was also the case with Rodgers.

And if he sucks? Ah well, 30 years of HOF QBs was a pretty good run, and we'll be looking forward to the Russian roulette that is trying to find a franchise QB - like half of the teams in the NFL seem to be doing every year. All the more reason to appreciate the good times while they're here/appreciate what we've had in the past.

Rodgers fell because Mike McCarthy told the niners not to take Rodgers and to take Smith at #1. Rodgers actually did great in college and even gave USC a run for their money. Rodgers resume and talent in college is/was ten times better than Love.

Rodgers was not a project with potential, he was a projected first rounder and even #1 overall pick.

Love was a RAW talent project QB that would of been available in the late second round had it not been for the idiots running GB. His college resume is mediocre at best and so far he has looked exactly what i expected from him.

Again, its not about him failing to come out and ball, its about the little things that he didnt do correctly(or couldnt do that ANY NFL QB should do) that im so low on him.

I honestly dont expect much from him even later down his career here....

Everyone was saying how perfect MLF system was for a QB like Love because he schemes to get players open on short routes. Love failed at that throwing behind and low and even shovel passes were a joke...

Meanwhile, Love has appeared in one game in which he had to constantly throw from a horizontal position before he hit the ground with blitzers in his face. I mean relax people. It's one game, in which Patrick and Newman were turnstiles.

I'm disappointed in how the outcome came and how Jordan Love looked, however, it's because I had unrealistic expectations for the performance. The kid was thrown into starter on Wednesday after the game plan was set for Aaron Rodgers and he hasn't had even one normal off-season. He's not Justin Herbert who got thrown into the starting position minutes before kickoff and has been lighting it up since. The scouting on Love was that he wasn't ready to be starter out of the gate and would need time to develop. At least, that is what I read.

I'm not as hopeful for the future with Love as I was 24 hours ago, but I'm also not ready to put a fork in him, yet. I mean, I remember how awful Rodgers was vs Ravens, vs Patriots before he showed us something in his THIRD year in the league coming in relief of Brett Favre vs Cowboys.

Crazy how one is the darling of the NFL and the other is being drilled into a never will be in his first extended action in the NFL.

Mahomes is having one of those Aaron Rodgers "bad" years, you know the sort where they're still obviously a top 10 QB that most teams would trade for if they could.

That said it was a great effort from GB's defense, missing a number of key starters, to hold Mahomes to the production he had.

We're in a wait and see deal with Jordan Love, much like we were with Aaron Rodgers his first three seasons. And even into his first full season as starter.

So, the hell do I know.

Zero2Cool (1h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (15h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (15h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
