29. Eric Stokes, CB, Green Bay Packers
Stokes got the same kind of welcome-to-the-NFL moments that fellow first-round corner Jaire Alexander did three years ago: Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams for touchdown after touchdown in practice. Alexander, now an All-Pro, embraced it, and he told Stokes to do the same. Stokes has steadily improved in camp and has shown he can be an opening-day starter unless the Packers want to go back to returning starter Kevin King (who has missed most of camp because of a hamstring injury).

"With the practice time that Kevin had missed, especially the first couple weeks, what an unbelievable opportunity it's been for Eric," Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry said. "For him to go against No. 17 [Adams] ... you can't create that anywhere else." -- Rob Demovsky

How can there be any sort of progress report on a kid who hasn't even played a half a season, let alone a single game? Are we this thirsty for content that we need this fluffy doofus stuff?

Anyhow. I am excited about Eric Stokes because he has that crazy speed. I like speed.

I can understand him making progress.
Going up against the Rodgers to Adams combo every day should, in theory, make him more able to know what to do when he goes up against the #2 WR on other teams. Alexander will take the #1 guy. Going against the best, if you have talent to begin with, should lift your game.
The NFL is a big jump up from the college game. Time on the field now will make him better prepared.

Yes, we are! Anyway...

I for one am keeping my expectations low on Stokes. Not because I don't think he has potential but because CB is rough for a rookie to come in and hit the ground running.
