I saw one name on that list that was posted but give me one other player besides that and damn our d would be set and the fire would be back but i see a better chance of Brett sending Ted Thompson a x-mas present.

Alot of people are saying sign Peppers but how about Peppers and Ray Lewis could you imagine that. There would be some fire on that defense with Ray Ray.
But i don't see him leaving Baltimore.

The Packers need to make it an objective to sign one of two lineman. Julius Peppers and Albert Haynesworth are those two.

Ray Lewis in my opinion isn't going anywhere and even if he did, I don't think Green Bay is on his list to sign too. I think he'd probably end up in New England for less money.

However mentioning Ray Lewis did bring something to light. I believe Terrell Suggs might be a free agent after this year. He'd be a great pass rusher opposite of Aaron Kampman. Add him to the list and you have at least three quality lineman available.

People bring up the franchise tag, but I think I heard that at least Haynesworth probably wont' be franchised because of an agreement he made with the Titans this past off season. Rumors suggest Peppers in on the trading block too.

All in all, no excuses for not going after a defensive lineman in my opinion. Not like years past.

In my opinion this is a NEED BASED draft. I don't want to hear anything about we pick the best guy regardless of position. We don't need a star receiver. We need better blockers to allow the ones we have to get open. We need defensive freaking linemen.

Where are the Packers heading.. in two weeks.. home.

The rest is trivial at this point for the lost 08' season.

Underachievers you say.. the is one hell of an understatement.

Beating the bloody piss out of the Bears is NEVER trivial...

Ray Lewis isn't Packer material any more than any other criminal. I completely disagreed with Favre when he was pushing for that other criminal, R. Moss. Peppers. OK, but how about Albert Haynseworth with Peppers?

And that's assuming we can get the Jaws of Life out and open our idiot GM's pocket book.

"dhazer" wrote:

How can you say you wouldn't have wanted Moss on your team i mean hell he only set a single season td reception record lol. I know Ray wouldn't come to GB but i like his intensity he brings to a defense. By the way it sounds like Haynesworth has an acl problem now, so that could be a problem. I really don't see any big name FA coming to Green Bay after what happened this off season. I have said it all along that Ted Thompson will cost us some Big name FA IMO. Before you start your rant i say just wait and see if any want to come to a team that the Gm ran a hall of famer out of town.

If one comes i'll be more then happy to eat my words.

He set the record, but there will always be an asterisk next to it in my mind. Jerry Rice caught 22 TD passes in 12 games. Randy Moss caught 23 in 16. I don't think Rice's record will ever truly be broken.

OK update on Haynesworth

Haynesworth was injured in the fourth quarter at Houston when he fell awkwardly and Texans tackle Duane Brown landed on his leg. An MRI on Haynesworths left knee Monday confirmed the postgame diagnosis of sprained medial collateral ligament.

I really worry about players once they start damaging there acl but even worse the mcl (thats a bitch to recover from)

I agree some players go for the money but i don't see Ted Thompson forking out big bucks and if it came down to coming here or going somewhere else for a matter of a million or so less i see them going else where IMO

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
