There are quality players available at every position of need that might not bust the Green Bay Packers’ stressed budget.

Defensive Line - Jurrell Casey
Offensive Tackle - Dennis Kelly
Cornerback - Mackensie Alexander
Interior Offensive Line - Austin Blythe
Inside Linebacker - K.J. Wright
Receiver - Dede Westbrook

Honestly, I never even heard of any of these guys.
So I can’t make any opinion on it.

I like some suggestions. He's completely right on Casey. Why not take a chance on a 5 time Pro Bowler. He'll be forced to sign a one year deal somewhere, so it's a very low risk move. Missing all of last season with a serious injury makes him cheaper because of the uncertainty he'll come back at his old level.

Add to that that he plays with a big chip on his shoulder (he was annoyed that the Titans traded him away for only a 7th. I can only imagine what the whole league passing on him after begin a Pro Bowler just a year ago wil do), he's only 31 and he a had a good season last time he was healthy and it doesn't seem like that bad a signing.

I just wonder if the relative lack of need at the position, combined with our salary cap position and high need at other positions makes it a realistic scenario. I honstely don't think so.

On the other side you have a guy like Dede Westbrook... I wonder what he'll really add over what we have on the roster now. On the receiving end you just add another slightly above average wide receiver. I know he's a different type, but just add a shifty guy in the draft and don't spend the cap space there.

Not sure where he is in terms of recovery, but I wouldn't mind bringing back Tyler Ervin if we are thinking about a FA Wide Receiver. The offense was doing quite well when he was in that Jet Sweep threat position.

I like the idea of Casey, but with his injury history it would depend on $$$ and what our doctors say.

I am wondering if we stay quiet now until the draft and then figure out what we need after that point. I still like the idea of bringing someone in on the interior defensive line to help Kenny out. Our current guys don't seem to be getting the job done and I am not sure if we can expect a rookie to step in to make an impact.

As everyone else says, it depends on the cost. But I don't see the Packers doing much more...

Maybe sign a cheap Center, who can start if needed, to free up Jenkins if we need to move him around.

I still wouldn't mind resigning Lane Taylor, I'll take the gamble it won't happen three times in a row and sign him to a minimum deal (note, I don't think it will happen three times in a row unless the Packers sign him, then I will, but still minimum would be worth the risk).

What the other guys said about the DL Casey.

ILB depends on what we're planning to run, if Tampa 2, then yeah, we need a coverage ILB, if not, we might go with what we have.

Ervin is reportedly visiting the Bills right now. Zero, are you asking about him selling merchandise? Or the possiblity of Patterson in GB? I've said I'd like both Ervin and Patterson... I don't think Patterson is a punt returner, but I think he has more power can be used more like a TB and has deep speed, where we can run both MVS and Patterson deep, can't double both of them. I think the Packers want more speed... and Patterson should be able to do the sweep.
