Tom Brady has done it again, he redid his contract to free up $19 million in cap space and he took to twitter to say it. In pursuit of 8...LFG @Buccaneers we’re keeping the band together. In response Shaq Barrett the Bucs biggest Free Agent said Yessir. So now they will be able to sign all the guys that were going to be a free agent. This my friends is why he is the GOAT. He don't let money get his head to big, he knows he needs players to help him (doesn't hurt his wife makes more than him) I mean look at his cap hit this year now It seems like Tom Brady reduced his $15M 2021 base salary to his league minimum $1.075M with the remaining $13.925M & his $10M 5th day of league year roster bonus ($23.925M combined) being prorated over 5 years. Bucs get $19.14M of salary cap relief this way.

The Tom-Brady extension saves the Buccaneers $19 million against the cap this year, per sources. The additional voidable years are there to defray the cost. It was another effort from Brady to keep as much of the team together as possible.
Wouldn't it be nice if Green Bays QB would do something like that? I remember Favre doing it so we could resign players, but we know the Diva won't and he will bitch about not having players to help him.
